I do some travelling, and it's nice to be able to take a fully functional laptop with me, without needing much bag space. I would also echo what BigDogg said above about speed. It also doesn't get overly hot on my nuts when I leave it on my lap (unlike my MacBook Pro).

Well, to be clear, my MacBook Pro is an older model (about 5 years old). My Air is new.
I don't have the tech know-how to explain the way others here have, but to my noob eyes, my Air is superior to my Pro, as I expected it would be.
