Man tough los for the Jays. The bullen blows it again.
the yankees get the win but if I were Torre and Cashman I would be worried these guys haven't looked all that good this year and there is only so long that you can say guys are trying to get used to new teammates etc. before you have to wonder if some of them are just too old and not going to put up the numbers they used to.

I don't mind Frasor, he got the job done today and he's still a young talent. Chulk for how the role he should be in is doing good but he shouldn't be put in a tied game in the 9th. The big that really ticks me off is how much money we spent on stupid Blowenweis when we for just a little more could've got a much better lefty in Kline.
Walker and Batista are the only two guys from the pen I can watch and not be a nervous reck
Nice to see Koskie coming around, a big game from him tonight, to bad Vernon just can't do anything right. I still think he's injured from whatever it was he hurt last year, because man does he look out of place. Gibbons has got to move him down in the lineup. Let him bat 7th

Batista are you serious? It feels like hes 1 hit away from blowing every and any game he comes in.
Does not inspire confidence at all.
Chulk has been electric so far, so I do agree with giving him the chance to do something and prove himself a valable relief guy.
He was just a wreck today, dunno what to blame it on, but he couldn't throw a strike.

Textbook case of why I despise the stolen base.
First and third, one out, Koskie up to plate and Gibbons tries a double steal that fails miserably.
Turned a guanteed 2 run inning with a decent shot at more into a one run inning.
When the Jays lose today, this loss will be 100% on the manager for using an amazingly pointless tactic at an incredibly stupid time.

I absolutely love the stolen base and am glad that the Jays are running a lot more this year. They have a lot of speed and need to use it.
That said, it was an amazingly stupid time to try that play. If they were trying to catch the Yankees napping, it obviously didn't work.

Jays win 8-6.
Excellent job by the pen today. Pete Walker picks up the win. Scott Schoenweiss pitches 1 1/3rd innings w/o giving up a hit. Batista comes in to pick up the save w/ a perfect ninth. Great to see the bull pen play a major role in a win.
Baltimore is going to be a major test up next.

I wouldn't say that. They just showed enough teamwork to backup and make up for their manager's mistake. They didn't fold when the attempt failed. Shows how much the character of the team has improved.
I just love how Hinske's run only came about because he stole 3rd base! :P

Meh. At the time, Lilly was serving everything up on a platter, and it very definitely looked like Gibbon's stupidity was going to cost the game. As it is, he got lucky, nothing more.

I was throwing my remote at the TV at that point as well. Nice job beating the Yanks in New York. Ordered my first ever non hockey sports jersey today.

This was a great series. The Jays showed they could hang around with the Yanks the whole series. And who knows, if Chulk didn't implode yesterday might have had a different outcome.

Hopefully Hudson is OK.
He is listed as day-to-day after his collision with the umpire.

The guys only blown one save this year, and he was I think 7 for 7 last year. Pretty or not Batista has got the job done better then any Jays closer in recent time.

Batista has been solid this year, no doubt about that.
