Hm, I've never heard it used as a race-derogatory term. When I hear the term, I tend to think of someone from back in the '50's or so, with the 'rocker' look. Greased back hair, leather jacket, the whole nine yards. Like the greasers in "Grease".

I've never seen the movie Grease, but weren't the greasers from The Outsiders?

Corn Starch. Use it as a deodorizer once you're completely dry after a shower. Under the arms, and in the crotch and feet. You can sent it with any dry plesant smell. Not that I have this issue, but sometimes when it's really hot and I can't walk around naked in public, I do this.

Same thing, basically. Greasers and greaseball were terms usually used to indicate folks like that. There are a ton of movies around that time frame with 'greasers' in them.

I could see that interpretation. If people are traveling in the Northeast, they might want to be careful throwing that term around. Whereas we might all understand a dislike for "grease-ball Oiler fans" from Edmonton...it might be interpreted differently in Boston or New York. The more you know!

That's a good idea. I know a guy who brought in his own. It wasn't so much so that his smell wouldn't bother others but so that he could sneak a smoke in his office. This was many years ago but he still keeps it running in his office.

As others have said, greaseball to me is that guy who is loaded up on men's cosmetic products. At my work, the older gents must be going through a life crisis because they want to be The Fonz with a beer gut.

Tomorrow, come in early and drop a deuce on his desk. Accompany this with a note stating that the deuces will continue to be left on his desk until he stops smelling like one. Then, continue to drop said deuces on his desk each morning until the smell gets better or he quits.

Wait, is he actually smoking in his office? Or he just smells a lot after going out to smoke?
If he's smoking in his office you should build a bonfire in yours. Then everyone can pretend they're outdoors and it will be just like camping.

Back in the hostel days, I once had to evict a guy because he stank so bad. The poor guy tried to rent a bed long term, but we declined and evicted him because other hostelites threatened to leave if we didn't get rid of the guy.
There must be some kind of physical condition, because even though I told the guy to wash every piece of clothing he had, and go take a long shower, he still stank. And not just some annoying BO, this was totally overbearing.
I kicked a lot of people out of the hostel, and usually enjoyed it, because it was always warranted, but kicking that guy out was pretty harsh. But what else could I do?

Is it just the smell of cigarettes people are getting all torn up about? A few people in our office smoke during the day. You can smell it when they walk by you closely or you get within a few feet if they've just come back, but not a chance you could smell it from outside their office.
People have already confronted him about it? The whole thing seems strange. Maybe it is a medical condition?

In my building a couple moved in who smoke 12 cartons a day. Management put a notice up that you can't smoke in the hallways and that you need to reduce the smell for other people. So they just spray this grape flavoured febreeze everywhere and it smells worse than before. I'd rather just smell the smoke.
|
12 cartons is 2400 cigarettes.
Smoking inside is gross, and I smoke.

Reminds me of a guy I went to school with that would not brush his teeth in the morning, drink a cup of coffee and have a cigarette. The combination of all 3 would produce the most incredible smell.
