I've lost 70+ pounds, depending on the time of day, over four years. The above mentioned successes are just phenomenal !! Congrats on your results, but make sure to keep it up.! Save some calories for next season's home games .

I lost forty pounds in a month in August of '09 (note birthday of daughter).... but I doubt any of you guys would want to push an 8 pound bowling ball out your butt

I found that bio oil is more for preventing stretch marks (I didn't get any when I was pregnant) and Vitamin E is more for getting rid of scars/stretch marks. Aloe helps a little too...

Do they make Vitamin E creams or oils? Or am I going to have to go out and buy some capsules and bust em open?

I wish I was as lucky as you!

Puxlut is correct, the bio oil is what they encourage you to use to prevent the stretch marks as it puts moisture in the skin so it has more elasticity to stretch. Vitamin E is used in the reduction of alot of scars and yes, it comes as an actual cream. You will find it either with the Vitamins or with the skin moisturizes and stuff like that.

Shea Butter is another product that helps in reducing the look of stretch marks. It's found either in a cream or oil and pretty widely available.

Avon used to carry a product that was marketed as a Stretch Mark Reducer and it was high in Vitamin E and Shea. It was probably the only product I noticed any sort of reduction in, but sadly they seemed to have discontinued the line.

None of these will completely eliminate stretch marks. It's only reducing the appearance of them. If you have the kind that are purple or dark colored, the best you can hope for is for them to turn white or pinkish color and lighten.

You can buy it at any drug store. Some are called scar gone and whatnot.

Someone bought me some when i got my appendix out, but i like my scar haha.

Did have stretch marks on my back from growing when i was younger, those went away in time though.

Since were all braging, i put on about 12-15 pounds since january of muscle. Most of it is muscle memory growth from when i used to be bigger (stopped working out for almost a year). Feels nice to get active and healthy again.

I have lost considerable weight in the last couple years.

#1) I'm glad I kept all my clothes from university. They fit again. Though I'm not too sure that Ocean Pacific shirt is still in style.
#2) I owe my success to (in no particular order):
- LoseIt (iPhone app and web site)
- Taking Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) support group
- having a swimming pool so I can do my favorite exercise whenever I want

BTW - TOPS recommends giving away all the old clothes that are now too big for you. Not wanting to buy bigger clothes gives more motivation to keeping the pounds off.

I lost 30 lbs at the begining of last year. I went from 220 to 190. I'm currently at 193 because I have let myself slip a bit over the winter with my diet. I starting hitting the gym in January and I go at least 3 times a week. I run for 30 mins on the treadmill (Usually get in 5.5 kms) then I lift weights for another 30 - 40 mins. If I'm motivated I'll go another day and just hit the treadmill for an hour. I'm going to really focus on my diet over the next couple of months and try to drop another 10 -15 lbs. I would like to be at 180 by the time summer rolls around... if it ever comes this year.

^ 5.5 KM in 30 minutes? Not to be rude, but are you sure because that's damn quick!

Anyway, I'm stuck at 155 forever, though from working out since February, I've noticed I'm getting leaner. Ideally I'd like to be around the 140 pound mark, but that's a pie in the sky. Thanks to ya'll I've recently been doing cardio for about an hour 4-5 days a week and have been shedding the mid-section tire pretty quickly. Add to that about 45 minutes of weight training, and things are looking up.

Thumbs up

I quit smoking on January 16, and while never a physical specimen to behold, I was embarrassed when I started packing on the pounds and my pants no longer fit, so I decided to do something about it.

3 Weeks ago I bought a years gym membership, signed up on http://www.myfitnesspal.com and started doing 45 to 60 minutes of cardio, 6 days a week. Add in a bit healthier diet and I am shedding the pounds and toning up.

This AM I started the C25K. So in 9 weeks I will be looking for some 5K runs to participate in. My goal is to lose 65 lbs and a fraction of the way into that, I feel great!

Not smoking, getting fit, eating healthy, the best things I have ever done for myself.

That's not all that quick. If you average 7 m/hr on the treadmill for the 30 mins that's 3.5 miles which is approximately 5.6 kms.

I went from 242 last November to 198 as of last night. I was motivated by my epic break-up, and a profound sense of shame of my blossoming man-breasts.

Gym 4 times a week with one hour for weights and one hour on the treadmill. Like everyone else in the thread, I am just overjoyed at the improvement in my appearance, and the lack of sweat I pour out when climbing the stairs.

I like how you think.

I have posted my story in the other thread but to give you a quick Readers Digest version.
I started on October 17, 2010 and weigh in night before last and have now lost 60 pounds. 5 pants sizes and I have dropped 3 shirt sizes (XXXL to L)
I was exactly like you, Smoker and not eating healthy.
thats all changed now and the ole adage is, if I can do it, anyone can.
I wish you every bit of success in the world.

A few things I noticed. My heart rate is way lower than it was 3 weeks ago while doing the same exercise. My stamina is way higher today than 3 weeks ago. My gut and moobs are rapidly shrinking. All in all, I think these are pretty compelling signs my plan is working!

Yeah, I started doing 30 minutes on the treadmill, and my heart-rate was up to 210 sometimes. Totally ridiculous. After 3 months of solid working out an moving up to 60 min of cardio, it's down to 135. Pretty hilarious, us fatties.
