No thanks. Frankly, if Canuck fans want their own thread to discuss their own team, they can go to their own forums. We should not be catering to a fan base that, in the context of Calgarypuck, is comprised mostly by trolls.

See, that's what I thought this thread was going to be about- encouraging other posters to stop engaging them. By doing any sort of engagement we will only encourage them. So responding to them, creating their own threads or different sub-forums, etc; all encourages them.
And if you see a Flames fan baiting a Canucks fan, then report the post. Most of our reported posts for "trolling" are somebody responding to being baited. At that point it is pretty hard for us to go in, disect the conversation, and see what should be done.
But as others have said, it does take every Flames fan for this to work.

Just want to add that I have a huge respect for the job that the mods are doing.
I know that it can not be easy dealing with both Flames fans and other team's fans alike.
I have walked the line before of behaviour on here (more out of frustration or a bad mood then anything) and having to deal with that...even moreso now that our rivals are doing well in the play-offs must be a thankless job.

Canucks fans should be required to state their allegiance in their signatures via a mandatory whale picture and their thread creating privileges should be revoked. They should then be rounded up and confined to their own small sub-board or 'camp.'

I'm actually quite happy with the way it's going. The discussions outside that topic are quite nice.
I know Resolute's opinion is strictly against it, but I'd still be quite open to trying something this for a season. Even if it is catering, it cleans up the forums nicely IMO.
