Funny that this thread came up a couple of days ago, I actually ordered some Miracle fruit tablets from think geek a couple of weeks ago and had some friends over for a flavour tripping party. Pretty cool stuff.
You can get the tablets a lot cheaper than the actual fruit too.

The Raw fruit costs so much because it only has a shelf life of 2-3 days.
Pretty neat actually. Id be interested in trying it just for ####s and giggles.

I've tried it before. It's actually pretty neat. You can bite into a lemon without that puckering feeling or any sour taste at all. It actually tastes quite good. It's quite a bit different that putting sugar on something. Sugar just masks the flavour, miracle fruit changes it.
That said, it is expensive, but it's cool to try once.

thinkgeek.com sells tablets (freeze dried berries) that work just fine, and from the sounds of it are a lot cheaper than the actual berries.

Yeah, thinkgeek's prices are better too. Last time I ordered from them, I got a 3-pack of the tablets, so it didn't really cost me extra in shipping.

This thread is back from the dead! For the recond, I was charged $15.00 for 10 tablets. It was expensive, but I enjoyed it. I wouldn't buy the berries though.

I don't know if that would do much.
We tried 90 and 99% cacao chocolate and it still just tasted like crap.
The things I tried that I liked the best/thougth were pretty cool were:
Lemon/Lime Juice: kind of the go to, really delicious/freaky
Raspberries: Not tart at all, they taste like jam
Gooseberries: same as raspberries, they lose all of their tartness, and are crazy good
Salt & vinegar chips: taste just a little bit sweet, but no vinegar taste at all
Hot sauce: turns sweet, and cuts back the heat just a little bit
