as per Crowchild going east outside of dalhousie/brentwood/shag insane roller coaster bumps:

Far RIGHT lane i swear, ive driven this so much back and forth to school and work that it is without a DOUBT the most manageable.

i say we get a cp A-Team style group of vigilantes to fix the crowchild one evening...im sure we can do it... its simple roadway construction. I dont understand it at all.

Omg. I have wanted to make this thread for a while. The roads im this city are much worse than they were 5 or 10 years ago. Im sure it has a lot to do with increased volume, but man, there are some nasty holes out there. Elbow drive between southland and glenmore is terrible. The right lane of wb glenmore exit onto macleod will eat your car. There are a too of spots you have to actively avoid im order to not damage your car.

I think I noticed the train tracks are messed up there too? (I noticed some odd temporary signs beside the tracks). Frinkprof, any idea if there are slowdowns there?
If the road base is screwed, you're going to get road problems, no doubt. Your generic pot hole is usually caused by the freeze/thaw, but you're right on that account.

I'm making you a T-shirt that reads "USE THE RIGHT LANE".

I just read the other day in the Herald (or was it heard it on 660) that similar to Regina, Calgary has a clay dominated soil and when there is extended freezing - we had weeks and weeks of deep freeze like -20 - it really ####s with the roads because it goes crazy when it thaws.

BTW for anyone complaining just go to Regina. It truly, truly is like the Monorail episode of the Simpsons where Marge complains about main street. The potholes are so big they actually become sink holes and your whole car just disappear into the earth.

You guys whining about Crowchild should drive the Deerfoot south from McKenzie Towne to Seton. I'm not sure how much of the problems there are the water main break buckling the road or sloppy construction from those that built the Deerfoot Trail extension, but man, that is just about the worst stretch of road I've ever been on, and I've driven rural Saskatchewan and Manitoba extensively.

almost all the roads in this city are trash. Barlow Trail between 16th ave and Memorial is a wavy mess, and the eastbound exit from Barlow to 16th ave looks almost like earthquake damage. the only road that's actually nice anymore is Stoney, but that likely won't last long

Yeah, I was going to say. Why would you guys be complaining about the sweet Deerfoot jumps?

I hit it on Saturday. Dog went flying. It was awesome.

It's pretty bad anywhere along the route of the West LRT construction, particularly on 17th from 33rd St SW and westward.

Deerfoot at 22x started getting really bad 6 or 8 weeks ago..... then it flooded several times.

Now it's not even drivable.

This one was just filled yesterday!

There is also a nasty one coming up the hill after the traffic circle by highfield road onto blackfoot.

Because you need to stop somewhere for gas on the way to the border to pick up duty free smokes and booze?

Ramp going from heritage onto glenmore has been bad for last couple years but has gotten really bad in the last 2-3 months.
