You realize that Xenon is a gas right? And that you are running illegal headlights that blind incoming drivers and can cause accidents?
To the OP, 450 bucks is insane to install a PNP kit, unless its using Denso or Hella Osram Ballasts than you are getting hosed, the bulbs would have to be genuine Phillips D2S bulbs as well as probably a custom wiring harness..
Regardless you can do a full Projector HID kit for 300 bucks.

From what they told me, the 450 is for a high end kit. I will find out exactly which one and post it.

Yup, and that's exactly what happens.
HID bulbs have a different focal length than halogen bulbs, so the optics of the housing/projectors are out the window and you will blind drivers. Yup, even with halogen projectors.
Then you have the people that put in the blue/purple ones. OEM (Factory) HID's are 4100-4300K usually, pretty much pure white. The blue/purple is from the cuttoff line, not the light itself. The blue/purple ones give you worse visibility (worse than halogen) and the glare can be even worse.
Oh, and they don't get hot. They are lower wattage than halogens. They won't melt anything.

Mine came with warning stickers, but I think they were higher wattage than my stock ones.

I have HID's in my car and they make a world of difference living out here in Victoria. I'm actually amazed how people drive with normal lights after seeing the difference with my car. The area it lights up almost looks like the day.

Do you mean LED headlights?
Or LED vanity lights like as seen on the New Audi's?
If anyone is looking at getting projectors done im willing to retrofit them for you.

This dude in an F-150 had a plug and play HID kit in his stock housings the other day and was following me on highway 3. The glare was absolutely ruthless, I was literally slouching way down in my seat because the light was just pouring in off my mirrors. In my life I have never seen headlights with glare that bad. The RCMP agree, because he got pulled over about 2 km outside of Lethbridge and I assume it's cause of the lights because he wasn't speeding.
So yeah... do it right for your own sake and the safety of others.

Indeed, their output doesnt compare to an HID just because they cannot produce the same amount of light at the moment.
There are almost NO LED retrofits out there for this reason.
For an example here are what the new LED lamps require to provide a similar light output to a single projector HID.
Because a single LED projector creates so little light they need to use mulitple projectors.
They are the future but the tech just isnt there yet.

Isn't there a problem with LED headlights not putting out enough heat to melt through ice/snow accumulation?

Actually one of the marketable aspects of LED is that they melt the ice on the headlight lens fairly easily using convection.

Yes but i wasnt aware of the fact that i needed the retrofit projector kit prior to get the HID bulbs put into my stock halogen housing. Had I knew i would have just gone to my local walmart and got brighter halogens but once the HIDs were in there im not gonna pay the guy again to uninstall it then sell it and lose $.

Fair enough, but just remember you are blinding anyone who is front of you.

I just wished that cops enforced this. They would likely be able to stand outside their station and just write tickets all night if they wanted. I can't count the number of times my wife or myself have been blinded by these stupid things.
Thank you though, for showing what they look like properly done (and offering to help do it).
