I heard as punishment he might be forced to coach a local PeeWee hockey team. Yikes.

Man, I really hope this piece of garbage show gets cancelled. So depressing that this is the kind of crap that people watch these days.

He's full blown crazy, but I'm 100% okay with that, because he's even more entertaining, the further he spirals into crazy.

You may make it. You may not. But that doesn't matter, Charlie. What matters is that we're here. Look around. Who ever thought we'd make it this far. 1 2 3 Triple Deke. Take your best shot. I believe in you, Charlie. Win or lose.

His rant was aimed at Chuck Lorre over comments he made about Sheens lifestyle. Lorre places a Vanity Card at the end of every episode of every show he produces. Many are censored before they hit the air, but can be read on his website. Many are funny but alot are really weird. One of his recent cards made direct comments on Sheen's lifestyle. He took aim at Charlie, who is pretty unstable, which was why Sheen went off on him.

Read the cards. The censored ones are pretty interesting.

Interestingly the card from last nights Big Bang Theory says he's taking a break from his essay type cards.

Doesn't matter...its all about what ratings it can generate and it does it better than most. Both weekly in the network wars and does really well in syndication. The thing is a cash cow.

They changed the ending because they couldn't get the movie rated.

It's the Lowest Common Denominator formula for comedy. It's why Everybody Loves Raymond and According to Jim are top rated shows. Don't make anyone think too hard, and you'll be just fine. The worst part is you're cursed to an eternity of syndication reruns with these crap fests.

Yup....just like music it always astounds me how someone else can tell another person what should or should not entertain that person. That's a pretty massive soapbox to be clamoring from IMO.

I think this applies for most shows though. You need to appeal to a wide base to do well. Have people put too much thought into TV that specifically isn't designated that way and you're going to lose them.

Man though, why would you threaten to lose 2 million an episode to play yourself?

This principle applies in democratic politics too, whether we like it or not.

What?

These shows haven't been in production for years. What are you talking about?

There are excellent comedies on television these days like Modern Family for example. Even new shows like Mr. Sunshine are smart and witty. 30 Rock is another.

I know and those comedies are great because they actually make you think about the jokes instead of spoon feeding you some lame gag. I was just using those other shows as examples from the past where the lamest shows are always the highest rated and good shows like Arrested Development get the axe because people don't want to have think about jokes. I know that those shows turn some peoples crank, but I just loathe them to the point of not even being able to have them on for a second.

Breaking Bad, Mad Men, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, etc.

Something that doesn't require a laugh track and use the same fat kid joke for 8 straight years. I just can't believe that people laugh at this crap...

I don't think 2 1/2 Men falls into the category you are describing.

The show is well written and can be very witty. The acting also is usually much better than some of the shows you are putting it in with.

Like I said previously, it has fallen off in the last couple of seasons, but if you watch even the first 3 seasons, the writing, acting and overall show has been very well done in my opinion.

Sorry, but that "real audience reactions" youtube vid is just as stupid as what it is claiming 2 1/2 Men to be.

There are a lot of different shows the wife and I watch. I agree, there are much better shows on tv than shows like 2 1/2 Men, but that doesn't mean there isn't a place for these types of shows and I do find a lot of it funny. It's easy to watch. Sometimes it's fun to just relax, turn off your brain and watch a show.

This might be the reason why I enjoy movies like Donnie Darko, but when I'm not i the mood to think, I enjoy putting in my BD copy of Armageddon as well...

"I exercise regularly. I eat moderate amounts of healthy food. I make sure to get plenty of rest. I see my doctor once a year and my dentist twice a year. I floss every night. I've had chest x–rays, cardio stress tests, EKG's and colonoscopies. I see a psychologist and have a variety of hobbies to reduce stress. I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't do drugs. I don't have crazy, reckless sex with strangers.

If Charlie Sheen outlives me, I'm gonna be really pissed."
Quite frankly, that seems pretty funny to me. Totally different tone than the kind of things Sheen has been saying. Quite frankly if Sheen is going to pull these stunts in public, he has to have a better sense of humour about himself.

This one...
Quote:
"He felt dead inside.

No matter how hard he partied, he could never escape that simple fact - inside, dead.

And that was his life.

Running from a feeling.

At least until he could run no more.

Exhausted, spent and beaten, when the end finally came, he welcomed it.

With life ebbing from his wasted body, he was suddenly swept up in a transcendent state of joy that was pure and complete.

Moments later he felt dead inside."
If that's about Sheen....It's really weird of him to publish something like that.
