Color me unimpressed so far.

I'm a heavy PVPer and the lack of skill in this game is just sad. I can get top favor on wargrounds almost every time at lvl 11 when the game is filled with players 15-19.

Just a total spam fest.. I'm sticking with Heroes of Newerth :P

Yes and WoW's class/ability system was 100% original..

Did you guys play EQ? Or DAoC? Don't you realize that that is all MMO's do these days? Rip each other off? LoL...

The queues were a bit crappy at the start, but thats a typical launch for a MMO, they sold 1 million copies (pre orders) so I expected as much, which is why I took yesterday off instead

Rookie MMO mistake, trying to play on day one!

I will also admit the PvP has not impressed me so far.. but I reserve judgement for end game content. The leveling is a joke compared to Vanilla WOW or EQ or DAoC or any other decent level based MMO, so I will stick it out and give the end game content a serious try.

One thing that ticks me off so far is the lack of interupts. DAoC's 8 man PvP was so great because you could interupt the other casters, so it became a huge strategic game of positioning, fake casting to make people waste their abilities etc.. Similar to WOW but a lot more in depth. Even UO it was about interupts.. in RIFT so far I have zero, as a Bard, and that bothers me. Every class should have some way to interupt even if it means being right up in the guys grill.. I am hoping the end game PvP will use CC a lot more than the current game does.

It is hard to judge a game's end game content on half of the abilities...

Beta'd rift for about a month, and can say that the PvE is great but the PvP...well lets just say balance is going to be a huuuuuuge issue with the Skill/Spell structure the game has in place (filling up 2 action bars by level 9 is never a good sign).

Had alot of WoW friend jump ship to Rift but im not sure how long they will last. It's not quite as noob friendly as alot of MMOs I've played in the past, though if WoW is a 5.5 on the "EVE Scale Of MMO Convolution", then Rift has gotta be at least 7.5-8.

What is the difference between WoW at least on the PvP front? I took a look at the screenshots and it looked very standard fare.

The *only* way I'm going to play an MMO again is for the PvP.

You're a UO veteran right?

If so, PASS!

Heroes of Newerth is the only thrilling PVP i've played since UO. :P

Are you actually being serious about Heroes of Newerth (honestly, never heard of it). Yes, I'm a UO vet.

Absolutely I am.

HON is freaking amazing if you liked the guild-fights from UO.

If you are looking for open world PVP HON isn't it, but if you're looking for thrilling strategic PVP, HON is it.

Don't listen to his propaganda, HON is basically WOW arena in WC3 models.

It is hard for me to tell if RIFT's pvp is any different than WOW's because I am not yet at the end game. But from the little bit of BG's I have played I can say that it is definitely more complicated and in depth than WOW's I Win button PvP.

But like I said before, it all depends on how big of a role CC/interupts play in the long run, right now there isnt much point in either.

Apparently though there is a big end game PvP city/keep that will be constantly fought over for realm bonuses. That I am looking forward too.
