Nah, the Preds experience will come through with 3 goals in the 3rd.

If anyone else would like me to put hex on their opponent, I do take bribes  [/b][/quote]
You name it, I'll pay it Becky!!

Wow so I get the Wild now. Incidentally Legwand, Spezza, Morrow, Kalinin, and Vokun are all ex-oilers....

I loved all those guys and only traded them to help out their careers...Please don't hurt me...

;_;

Disappointing way to end the season for the Predators. Hopefully they can learn from it for next season. Hasek was not consistent when it matter the most and that cost us huge. The Predator's will be looking for a new #1 goalie next season.

Hopefully the Wild can take it all the way so this loss doesn't feel as bad.

Good work Grant. That is one hell of an upset. As your mentor I take 30% of the credit.

One for the Ages

Wild Pull Off Upset for First Playoff Win in Franchise History

17 Wins.

That was the difference between the Minnesota Wild and Nashville Predators during the regular season. But if there is a lesson to be learned from the series it's that the regular season matters little once the playoffs begin.

It was indeed a historic night for the Minnesota Wild franchise as the team pulled out a 2-1 Game 7 win to post their first series victory in CPHL history.

Brendan Morrow once again played a role - but this time his contributions came much earlier. "Mr Third Period" notced a first period goal to give the Wild the all important early lead. Jaromir Jagr would tie it up just 4 minutes later though as the teams ended the first frame knotted at 1.

Scotty Hartnell would score what woudl prove to be the game winner midway through the 2nd periold converting a two one one with Jason Spezza. For Spezza the assist was his 2nd of the game and sixth of the series.

From there on it was the Tomas Vokoun show. The soft spoken Wild netminder turned aside 30 of the 31 shots he faced, including 7 off of the stick of The Magnificent One. GM Grant Farhall praised his goalie:

"Tomas really stole this one tonight. The last half of the game we were outplayed but Tomas stepped up and wouldn't let us go home tonight with out a win".

For Vokoun the victory means he will be reunited with the team that dumped him mid-season. The series will get under way Sunday.

Game Notes
- Keith Carney suffered a minor injury but will not miss any games
- The Wild won the series in spite of low production from leading scorers Paul Kariya and David Legwand who finished with 3 and 4 points respectively though Kariya did produce 7 shots in the final game
- Brendan Morrow finished the first round as the CPHL goal leader with 7 goals in 7 games.

What a prediction, I called Vokoun outplaying the Floppinator and he most certainly did. Way to go Grant, good job in pulling the upset!!!
