Once again, you are ignorant on a subject... seems to be the theme with most of your posts.

Lethal force encounters require... get this Mikey... LETHAL FORCE. I am not sure where your from but someone threatening with a knife is... get this Mikey... LETHAL FORCE.

There may be situations when a cop could transition to a taser but it would be an option far down the list...

Mind you, I don't know why I even both replying to you... you were doing so well after I took you off ignore...

You, a random internet user had me on ignore? Oh my.........how will I ever recover from this.
Go ahead and put me back on ignore will ya...

I find cops are too inclined shoot before exhausting all other options.

A bat, and a knife are dangerous no doubt, but they are limited by the reach of the suspect.

I guess my opinion is clouded after seeing so many videos on youtube of cops shooting people with knives even when they are not physically threatening anyone with them. I have even seen cops shoot a wheelchair person who was holding a knife.

If you're running around mugging people with a bat and knife, and then you charge an officer with the weapons, you deserve to be shot.

Good riddance.

So if you have a guy running straight at you with a knife, are you going to chance it by using your judo chops to slap the knife out of his hand? I sort of doubt it. Contrary to your personal opinion, police officers are still human, and sort of enjoy living. They want to go home at the end of the night.

I really can't believe you are being critical of the cops here. Christ.

I don't know why I keep on doing this, but that's the point I was making...

When threatened with grievous bodily harm or death, there IS NO OTHER OPTION but LETHAL... I thought my original post made that clear.

Here are some good write up's on knife attacks and police training. Educate yourself, you may like it.

If the facts of the incident are that of the story, then I absolutely support the use of lethal force.

Don't advance on police with weapons and you have a pretty decent chance of not being shot by the police.

The police are often bashed, and it is unfortunately often deserved, but these people do an incredibly hard job with difficult decisions every day. I don't envy them.

Right or wrong this will be hard on the officer involved. One less jackass prepared to advance on police, and other citizens, with weapons really doesn't make me want to shed a tear.

Police don't have time to react, can't taser a guy who has a knife, that's too risky.

Police should always shoot to kill.

This site needs a "stupid post" button beside the thanks button.

Hard shoes to be in for the cop.
Just an honest question, but to anyone who brings this point up whenever someone is fatally shot by a cop, have you ever fired a real weapon before? It's really hard to hit a small target like that, especially one that's moving. It's not like Hollywood movies where bad guys have bad aim, and the good guys can somehow hit anything they want with relative ease.

Add in the adrenalin, and the chaos of the situation, the darkness because it's 1:00 AM...
