They are spinning tops, and I think you simply hope that your top remains spinning longer than your opponent's.

Probably should have blurred the faces on the kids or even better not put the picture up. However, the selling of the toys and making the kids pay for part of the damages I absolutely agree with (provided they were warned several times not to do what they were doing).

Reminds me of when I was a kid. We got new bikes at 7 and 12. It was the family rule. I got my new bike at 7 and left it behind my dads car in the driveway. He noticed it the first time, moved it and warned me that if something happens to it that is my fault I;d be walking for 5 years. The talk sunk in for about a week or so and I left it behind the car once again. Dad didn't see it and destroyed the bike.

I walked for the next almost 5 years while my friends rode bikes. I also had to pay for some minor damages to the car out of my allowance. Let me tell you, when I got my bike at 12 I treated it very well indeed. I still treat my things well. Hard lesson to learn but a damn good one.

Being a dad of 4 kids I find this completely hilarious. Its always better when its somebody else's kids destroying someone else's place.

They're about the only good toy of the early 2000's. You spin them against each other and whichever one stays spinning the longest wins. To think about the time and money I spent on these when I was 9... I'm not being sarcastic about the good toy thing, they really were/are sweet.

Edit: This post probably looks pretty odd to most of you seeing as the average age here is well above 18.

WTF are kids doing with $100 in the piggybanks nowadays?? When I was a kid, I was lucky if I had 12 quarters and a dollar bill in my pig.

I like the approach of direct consequneces to actions. The kids wrecked something, they replace it. In my opinion punishment should be specific and relatable to the action.

These kids will learn the value of items and learn to repsect other peoples property. The pictures should probably not have been put up but the concept of paying for the things you damage is a good lesson to learn

And Beyblades aren't even a new toy. Battling tops had been around way before them. They just made some japenease cartoon show and jacked up the price.

Lol. That's pretty harsh. A five year punishment during prime bike years? When I was 7-12 I practically lived on my bike.
