I guess I am never going to live that one down but it is funny how no one wants to give up anything susbstantial for him. His value should have risen anyway after an amazing World Juniors so BJ should expect more in return.
Is it so bad that one GM wins a trade anyway? Every GM has a reason for pulling off a trade and no one has a gun to their head saying you have to make the trade. Sometimes the trade makes a team better now or later but that doesn't mean that you won the trade. Not to say every GM is in their right mind when they pull a trade off, some trades have some thought given, some are right off the cuff, some are for the sake of making a trade etc.
If you go by the rule that the team that gets the best player in the deal wins then the Jackets win, however MTL had their reasons for making the deal and I respect that. It does suck a little when a GM has to keep defending themselves, maybe all it takes is for a GM to just stand up and admit they screwed up and that they will do better next time and be done with it.
The Schenn deal does help me this year but I lose because I gave up the best player in the deal (2 years from now) Just a little tidbit to add is that Eminger is a +5 for the Islanders since joining (14 games).
