Well, time for a bump. I popped into Naked Leaf again, with the nice weather and all. Picked up some limited-time-only Cherry Blossom Sencha. It's kind of expensive, but the flavour is great - it's really a nice smooth refreshing drink.

Try the Pineapple tea from Naked Leaf, it's a great flavour and still keeps a lot of flavour with a second steep.

Seconded. It was the first I ever bought. Amazing over ice too. Can't wait for a warm day.

My wife picked me up a very nice "Sencha" from the tea place in Banff. Nothing too crazy, but still a nice cup.

My hands down favourite loose leaf tea is Russian Earl Grey from The Metropolitan Tea Company. It's a bit of a citrusy twist on Earl Grey. The tea/coffee shop in Eau Claire sells Metropolitan teas, but I don't know if they carry this one - I get it by the 1 kg package at Glenn's in Red Deer.
MRC - I've had the grape flavoured white tea from Naked Leaf - it is very good.

This is my tea of choice as well. Does anyone know where else to get it, short of Red Deer.

A FUNdraiser for JAPAN!
Looking for a seriously fun and informative evening? The Naked Leaf along with Michiko Ono will be hosting a sushi making and Japanese food evening to help raise funds for the Japanese Red Cross! This will be your chance for a hands-on sushi making course. While traditional sushi is made with fish, we will be focusing on sushi rolls that are more creative and with more practical fillings so that you can make them at home. Ever try a prosciutto and basil sushi role? Home made miso soup, teriyaki chicken and dessert will also be served. This will be a great evening of socializing, food and tea.
We have room for 40 people for this fun and informative evening. Please don't delay in reserving your spot now!
May 28 @ 6:00 $50 per person
402 30th Ave NE (The corner of 30th Ave NE and Edmonton Trail)
Call The Naked Leaf to reserve: 403 283-3555

I needed to bump this - Naked Leaf has their Cherry Blossom Sencha back in. Costs an arm and a leg, but damn is it worth it.

Good thread.
Mmmm I've been drinking mate since I was in 3rd grade. Growing up in a WASPy NJ suburb that was pretty weird. An Argentine family moved into the neighborhood and mate was my classmate's show and tell offering. Got me hooked
