Home row, though I used to cross over with my index left finger to hit H and Y (but not N for some reason). When I switched to a MS ergonomic keyboard the gap between the two halves put and end to that pretty fast.
Not sure how you can type without looking at the keyboard without going to the home row, though I guess you can find any default position to start out with.

Home row for me, with pointing fingers lightly touching those two little outcrops on F and J keys.

I have to look down at the keyboard to type numbers. Never got the hang of that. Not sure why.

I am a home-row typist.
More significantly, 10 years ago I switched to a DVORAK style layout. This eliminates the ability to 'peek' at the keyboard as the letters are not mapped to the indicated key.
Far superior to QWERTY if you have to spend any length of time at a keyboard.

I got 78 with 3 errors.

If I mess up like I did with 15 originally and type 14 then its a simple backspace with the correct adjustment but I have a pretty good idea where the numbers are without looking. oh and 69 wpm with 3 errors.

I'm pretty thankful that my tiny elementary school managed to get a set of computers for typing classes, kind of an essential skill nowadays.

Home row - I was taught to type old-school. I can type numbers without looking; however, I tend to use my left index finger for '6'. Generally I prefer to use the numeric keypad for numbers though - I'm way faster with it. I also have a tendency to sometimes press the 'shift' key on the left side, regardless of which hand I'm typing the letter with.
On the posted speed test: 84 wpm, 3 errors. Tried again focused more on accuracy than speed and got 78 wpm, 0 errors. Not as fast/accurate as I used to be, but I don't go for speed much anymore since I can't think at 78 wpm

I only ever use my right shift. Might as well take the left one off the keyboard.

Home row, and like a few other people have mentioned here I too have to look down to type numbers.

Home row, I remember hating it back in JH doing those typing tests but it apparently paid off, I'm super quick now, to the point where someone usually makes a comment when they see me type/text.
This whole new smartphone touch keyboard is murdering me though, I hate actually having to look at the keyboard now.

90 WPM, from the typing test linked above, but I'm faster (and I bet most people are) than that when typing my own thoughts rather than transcribing.
According to wikipedia, the average professional typist bangs out 50-70 words per minute, and in 1999, the average among computer users in one test came out to be 33 words per minute.
Edit: It just occurred to me that if people are typing at only 33 words per minute, a full 140 character tweet takes the average typist almost an entire minute to type out (the standard for converting characters per minute to words per minute is to assume average word length is 5 - that means there are 28 words in a tweet)

It's like playing the piano. It's muscle memory. I can type error free and even hit the numbers most of the time without using the home row. If anything, fingers oddly rest on W, E, F, J, O, and P.
