That's actually a good point Jagger. The Wheat Kings essentially had a first round bye by playing Moose Jaw, and probably got a very rude awakening last night as a result.
This aint the Eastern division anymore.
Brandon is a good team though. I expect they will be ready tonight.

This is no sweep. If anything, last night's thrashing might come back to bite the Hitmen. Brandon will be awake for game 2. All the games but for that one were one or two goal games this season. No way this is a sweep.

Here's a stupid question. Are all hitmen games televised from now on?
Calgary in 6.

Normally I cheer for Brandon seeing as they're the only Manitoba team but this year I'm cheering against them since they called up one of our Junior team's top players just before Christmas and then sometimes ended up sitting him for five games at a time when he would have been playing every game here.

Wheaties in five. They're a very strong team and they're peaking at the right time. I was really hoping for Red Deer to pull through so the Hitmen wouldn't have to face Brandon.
|
so far I am glad they had to face Brandon!

Who are these guys and what have they done with our Hitmen? Not that I'm complaining but it looks like a different team out there. One that's playing gritty, determined, smart hockey.
And what's with Brandon? Where's the firepower? Maybe their stats were a tad padded thanks to their weak division rivals. I've been really disappointed with the competition they've shown. They're cheap, chippy and not the juggernauts they've been made out to be. GO HITMEN!

I just cant cheer for a dirty team like Brandon.
Stone cheapshotted another player in the PA series as well. Picked up a double minor for spearing.
I sincerely hope the Raiders take Brandon out.

I really want PA to win, but I think whoever wins this game will lose to the Rockets. BTW: Its 1-0 Raiders early in the first.

Not to mention Fehr's obvious hook on Schlenker in game 5, and then he walks in and scores on the breakaway as a result of a completely missed call.
1-0 Raiders one minute in!

2-1 Brandon on a goal by Topilko.
Chipchura hit the crossbar on a wide open net on the PP for the Raiders.
Should've been 4 on 4 on the Brandon powerplay as Later wasn't completely innocent on the play.

You guys are whiners. The Wheat Kings are no dirtier than any other team.
Or did you want them to play a "Q" style game? Come on! Stone didn't even get a penalty or a suspension (after review) for the hit on Carson. He's a Calgarian for cry'in out loud!! Give it a rest. I like him a lot more than Fehr...who can disappear at times and is normally a bit of a floater.
Kelowna will be very tough to beat. They are a great team, as their Memorial Cup a year ago proves.
Who ever represents the Dub, I just hope they ruffle a few feathers. I'm tired of hearing all the Easterners talk about London and Rimouski....as if the WHL Champ won't even have a chance.
Need I remind them:
1994 Kamloops Blazers
1995 Kamloops Blazers
1996 Granby Prédateurs
1997 Hull Olympiques
1998 Portland Winter Hawks
1999 Ottawa 67's
2000 Rimouski Oceanic
2001 Red Deer Rebels
2002 Kootenay Ice
2003 Kitchener Rangers
2004 Kelowna Rockets
Summary
Champs: Dub=6, Oh=2, Q=3
Finalists: Dub=2, Oh=4, Q=5

Stone is a *$#@!.
It is one thing to play with an edge, to even play dirty, but it is another thing to play that way and then when players call you on it you look at the ground, tuck your tail between you legs, and skate off - at least until someone smaller then you challenges you so you can look tough.
If Stone keeps playing the way he does someone in the NHL is going to shove his tongue down his throat and out his ass...
Claeren.
