No particular order:
1) Bohemian Rhapsody
2) American Pie
3) The Wall Part 2
4) Paradise by the Dashboard Light
5) Summer of 69
6) The Logical Song.
7) All Along the Watchtower
8) Like a Rolling Stone

I'm not even a huge Beatles fan but Hey Jude and Imagine have to be in the top 5.

We could make our own list.
Everyone could submit a list of their top 20 or 50 or 100 and compile them into a "Calgarypuck says these are the best songs ever" list.

What the hell, I started a workshop thread. See above.

Imagine. That's Lennon, not the Beatles.

Didn't think I needed to be that specific.
If I had said "I'm not even a huge Beatles or Lennon fan" someone probably would have said that Lennon was in the Beatles.

Love how the greatest song of all is also lyrically the hardest to understand.

Mad love for The Smiths on that list. Both awesome songs, but I never thought I'd see them that high on any greatest of all time list.

Even if there were criteria, when it comes to best songs, best movies, best guitarist, whatever, it's all subjective.
Every list is always going to be subjective. There's no right or wrong answer. The lists are made to spark debate, not actually determine what the best whatever is.
How can you debate that?

Taste in music is way too subjective to make a list like this. I was pleased to see Eleanor Rigby and Waterloo Sunset on the list, as they are both brilliant pop songs and favorites of mine. But no Rolling Stones? This in a list that gives Donna freaking Summer (RIP) the third place song...seriously?
