This may be an unpopular opinion but I think John Candy was a lousy actor. Great person and funny guy but always a little awkward on screen. Maybe that adds to his charm and likability.

I was going to post this. He was great in JFK, although very little screen time. John Candy could have had a long acting career including dramatic roles. I miss him.
