I’d rather have Bennett than either of those guys. Some will probably flame me for that but I think his upside is highest of the three.
Galchenyuk has certainly produced more.
His career average is 0.61ppg. Bennett's is 0.37
And he has spent more than his fair share of time on Habs 3rd and 4th lines

At this point I'll be ecstatic if Bennet ever puts up the point total Galchenyuk just put up last year.
I think this deal could work for both teams. Domi might be the type who thrives in a pressure market like Montreal. Galchenyuk may be one who prefers a lower key situation.

Yep. And he's also two years older. He's had more NHL offensive success there's no question.
But when you look at scouting and projection its all about who will be the best NHLer at their peak. I still think Bennett has the potential to be a better player than Galchenyuk. I wouldn't want to give up on that potential. Obviously from the Bennett thread many fans on here are very ready to give up on his potential even though he's only just about to turn 22 which is very, very young in NHL terms.

Also, both of those guys are better than Bennett, I hate to say it
They have been better than Bennett in the past. But in hockey players develop over time. Scouting and trade values take into account projecting how good a player will be in their prime.
Bennett is the youngest of the 3 and still has a lot of room to grow and gain confidence. I don't think we've seen anywhere near his peak potential lately.
Like I said I'd take my chances with Bennett, I think he'll end up the best of the 3. But I understand why people may choose to look mostly at past success instead of projecting into the future.

When your confidence is realized I'll be first in line to buy you a beer for keeping faith.
Arizona crushes this deal. I don’t know what Montreal is thinking here. Domi has been pretty underwhelming. I would have happily taken Galchenyuk for Bennett if that deal was on the table. Doubt it was offered though. Bennett is a bit of a mystery at this point. He really needs to step up this season and prove he has the gravitas to support the faith of some of the Flames fans out there.
At this point...........is every GM phoning Bergevin every day?
Not that this trade is horrid, I still like it for the Yotes more, but it seems like he loses a lot of deals. Not sure what his plan is for that franchise.
