I've been here for 12 years and never had any real issues with Canuck fans at bars. I'm not a mouthy one though so that may be a bit of a difference.

Mostly I have watched at Dix (still there), Yaletown Brew Pub, G Sports, Lennox, Shark Club.

The Pint might be worth checking out. Never been there but hear good things.

I'm out in Burnaby so I hit up local pubs around there, mostly the John B.

I wouldn't worry to much about Flames friendly if you are with a bunch of guys. I've never had a issue with service and I wear my Flames hat just about everywhere I go.

Yet funny enough when I was living in Lethbridge for a while, I noticed there was an overwhelming number of Oiler fans to Flames fans. A couple bars there came across as pro-Oilers and some fans went as far as to rip the Flames flags off my friend's car. But really, it isn't Calgary, despite being geographically much closer to city one than the other, you can't really call it Flames territory.
Really in Victoria? Hell theirs a flames bar here. Its called Darcy's. The owner is from Calgary and a HUGE Flames fan. Hell 5th street reasturant is a Maple leaf pub. They fly the teams flag outside. I think you must of just had a one off experience. Their is a HUGE diversity of fan bases. I see just as many other teams gear as Vancouver's. I get people friendly joking me on my stuff I wear. Most of them are not Van fans. I was taking back some bottles and the guy was joking about "I dunno if I can help you wearing that" (which is the joke every cashier uses). He was a Colorado fan( originally a Nordiques fan) .

Almost any bar or pub in Victoria will put any thing on if you ask. I've never had the problem with wearing Flames gear since most of the city is from other places. 2 college campuses, a tech school, 2 university's and a world travel hot spot . and Victoria only has a population of 78,000 people. Then you factor in all the damn hipster and hippies ( I've been lectured by a lot of them how is barbaric and takes away from important things in life) and the population is 3women to one male ( not saying woman don't watch hockey) .

What bar/lounge/restaurant (with sports playing on the TV's) doesn't subscribe to any sort of NHL package? Maybe a local mom/pop one trying to save money but a CC in downtown Vancouver, c'mon!
It depends on who/how you ask. I called the Cactus Club on Broadway/Ash and asked if they had room for 8 of us in the lounge, specifically to watch game three of the SCF. They said sure. They normally don't have sound on for any game that is not a canucks game, but they brought speakers to our table and dropped an extra projector screen.

Also, in Vancouver, there are way better places than Cactus to go look at waitresses.

Ya this.

I'm a loudmouth, often drunk Australian Flames supporter and I have had no issues with Canucks fans in Vancouver. They are all a bunch of ##### ass pretentious fake fans anyway.

Gsports is on Granville St and is great. They will 100% be showing the game with sound and the staff are pretty good. Chickens wings are decent, beer is fairly cheap and they have the best TV setup in Vancouver (Sunday morning NFL here is the business).

My other recommendation is London Pub on Main St. Ben, the venue manager, is awesome. When you go in get a spot at the bar, as all the bar staff are infinitely cooler than the female waitresses. Jayden(Oilers supporter, bar manager) will be working, tell him Jake recommended the place to you. You'll get looked after.

I hate Granville street so I avoid that area at all costs however G Sports is a good sports bar.

I think Kings Head would be a good spot, they have a lot of TVs and the beer is cheap, and the place is never that crowded. Avoid the Kings Head house beer though.

Which location was that at? The Blanshard at Hillside location has excellent customer service, has multiple televisions, and are very accommodating.

I agree with combustiblefuel, you had a one off experience. Greater Victoria area establishments that have Centre Ice will put the Flames game or any other game on. Another dedicated team watering hole is Garrick's Head Pub, a Senators' bar. In addition to that, any place on Vancouver Island will do the same including places along highway 19!

Greater Victoria has a population of 345,000. The Municipality of Saanich, which borders the city of Victoira, has nearly 110,000 people and that is where both Camosun College campuses are and the university.

I have to give a vote for Yaggers. I was a at a meetup there and it was great. 20-25 Flames fans in a private room in the back. Big Screen and they were giving away Flames Prizes. It was put together by this group

That's right The Garrick's head is a senator's bar . not more than a block away from Darcy's. The sticky wicket is really accommodating too. During the 2010 play offs when Vancouver was playing Nashville. There was a night where the Preds fans out numbered the Van fans . the preds fans weren't just ppl that hated van they were all decked out in Nashville gear . Yes you are right camosun and the university are in saanich. Camosun Landsdowne is right on the line. And the U of Victoria is not actually in Victoria, close by not in the municipalty ironically enough. They don't even need centreice Highwayman The Wicket just uses Telus sport package. O and FYI for anyone that knows Hab fans in Victoria Yates Taphouse is good for canadiens games.

Didn't mean to derail your thread but it is Vancouver Island

In Vancouver Doolins has been accommodating but you have to make sure you get a seat at the bar. It is because they only have TVs behind there. The place has two levels their basement holds a lot of live music so it is manly known for live entertainment and the pub side is just that, a more authentic style pub. If you can make a reservation for those seats , they don't mind Turing off the soccer for you and putting on some hockey. Disclaimer tho .. The pub is accommodating but, it is on the corner of Granville and nelson. Getting their and back is to be at your own risk

Weird question, but does Calgary have a Canucks friendly bar? I can't think of one.

Yes there is. I happened across 2 when I was there. One was when I lived in taradale. It was by the mcnight- westwinds stop . The other was in Southland. I can't remember what it was called tho. It was the middle of winter and a stumbled in 5 sheets to the wind looking for a warmer upper shot on my long walk home.

I'm another one that can say The Score on Davie. Went there all the time when I lived in Vancouver. Many times I had the bartender turn on the Flames game if there wasn't a Canucks game on. I spent a lot of time there so that may have helped, I knew a lot of people there and I always had a pretty chill time. I was there one night watching a Flames Canucks game and Flames were winning and I was dancing around like a fool, and had no issues.

Checkers at the corner of Davie and Denman was another good place where I went to watch games as it was across the street from my place.

I usually stayed away from Granville like the plague... to much testosterone, and wanna-be thugs.

Thanks for the comments. Looking for a place that would have a large number of Calgary fans, but I think I have a good list to go from!
