Didn't think the Panthers deserved to win but they sure as hell deserved it more than the Flames

edit: and when is Mony going to stop hanging onto the puck for a lifetime in the slot? It has happened half a dozen times this year and last year he pulled the trigger and scored. Now he waits and waits and waits and either has it taken off his stick or blocked.
Defence was bad but no reason to feel sorry for Ramo. 2 of the 4 GA were soft.

Solid enough game. Fun to watch. Score the wrong direction.

You mean the one where he stopped the puck and Gio tapped it out to the open Panthers player in front of the net?

This was the only game on the road trip I thought they would win. I think we have to accept that last year's team is last year and this years team is different. Different as in pretty bad. Horrible defense and goaltending more often than not. You can't play two good games every ten games and expect to be even close to a playoff team.

That Giordano contract is going to set this franchise back. You never, ever, ever give a 30+ year old player a long term deal after a career season.

Yeah... fitting, play dies on... or in this case "not" on Widemans stick.

Defensive coverage from D and O was practically non-existent. It's really great when everyone on this team decides to show up and play a solid game.

Oh well, atleast it wasn't a tire fire. But they didn't deserve to win tonight, it's really a shame that a few veteran players seem to be lacking compared to the young guns. They just strike me as a team that plays down to their opponents level, and find ways to let them beat them at that level.

*sigh*

On the positive... Johnny and so many of our young players had great moments, made watching the game worth it in the end regardless of the loss! Keep it up kids!

On to the next game!

Dear Brad Treliving, it's my birthday in a few days. Can you please get a goddamn goalie that doesn't constantly let in bad goals?

Give Ortio another chance. It's not like it can get any worse...

Questionable defense? Sure

But just brutal goaltending again.

The 1st and 4th goal had nothing to do with defense that was just crappy goaltending. The 2nd goal was more weak positioning from Ramo and a nice juicy rebound again.

Gio bringing down Brodie as well. Gio off to a pretty bad start to the year. That contract will haunt us in a few years.

What kind of a hockey game was that? Holy smokes it was pretty much unwatchable. Wideman is so aggravating, and I'm not really sure why Giordano's controller seems to malfunction this season. Icing it is not one of the options when bringing the puck up ice with the goalie pulled.

All told, I felt like I was watching the worst hockey game of all time. Is that Florida's strategy? Make the game not resemble a professional hockey game?

Especially after we went on that run with out Gio. He would have made nice trade bait. Only 6 more years at 6ish million what a joke!

Too Early to start hoping we win the draft lotto for Mathews ?

Shame Treliving can't ask for a do over on Gio's contract. And what the frell is up with our team defense ? Were playing softer then Ice cream at a summer camp.

Even though I wouldn't put this all on Ramo I do think its time to give Ortio his shot again and see if they team can find some defensive responsibility for him!

Yes we know you're upset, we all are. But let's take a step back and be real.

Gio is having a slump. Guess what, it happens to all players. Granted, his slump couldn't come at a worse time, but he didn't all of a sudden forget to play hockey.

Gio won't be an anchor contract in the years to come. But I do dearly hope he turns this around quickly.
