Google Listen - for podcasts
The built in media player does podcasts, but you have to connect to the program on your computer.
Google Listen is very simple and free. Just enough features to do exactly what I want, unlike Acast which is a jumble of screens with no added benefit to me.

I can't seem to find it in the apps store.
Where did you get it from?
EDIT: Just did some reading. Still in beta?

Album Art Grabber: Worked like a charm. I had about 90 albums that needed art and it picked the right one for about 85 of them and the other five were easily found manually. Love it.
Alchemy: Soooo addictive.

Love that app. Suggested it in the wrong thread
I'm at about 146, definitely slowing down on figuring them out.

I had heard it mentioned around the web, but didn't know what it was. Figured I'd check it out, and yeah, its surprisingly addictive. I love the moments where you drag things together that you think will be one thing, and they become something else that still somewhat makes sense.

Pano Planet Live Wallpaper.
Takes a 360 degree panoramic image and makes it your live wallpaper. When you scroll between screens/touch the screen/etc., the image rotates accordingly. Very, very cool and only about $2.

Some of these are older so forgive me if you have them already...
AudioManager - Has a cool widget that shows you all of your phones volume levels and allows you to easily adjust them.
Metal Detector - Uses your phones compass to detect metal. Pretty cool to mess around with but nothing spectacular.
IMDB - Sweet app that lets you easily view new movie trailers and of course view the imdb site easier.
Kindle - Sign up with your amazon account or create a new one free and you can download thousands of free classic books to read on your phone. You can also buy newer ones if you set it up with a CC.
Task Manager - Comes with a widget that shows you how much free memory your phone is working with and allows you to quickly kill all apps running in the background. Program allows you to see all the junk running in the background and kill them individually.
3G Watchdog - Comes with a widget that shows you your usage and also the % of your plan used. Program allows you to see a detailed breakdown of your usage and an estimate of how close to your limit you will be by months end.
Shazam - An app that will 'name that tune'.

For anyone that's got a hankering for Swype, but can't wait for the beta to reopen. Try SlideIt, same idea, with a couple of really neat features that are absent from Swype. Demo version is good for 30 days with the full version being a pricey 6.99 pounds.

It has all kinds of neat screens. One has a digital compass thing, another shows the suns solar activity for the current day (flares, spots, etc...), one shows sound levels in decibels, another shows all the connection points and their strengths, and there are more settings and stuff.
It's pretty neat to mess around with. I read a top twenty app list and it came up and i searched the android app store for "tricorder" and it came up.

Ah, it needs 1.6 or later, I'm at 1.5. Phone must be filtering apps based on OS version.
