Pavelec is laughable.
They're talking about giving him an extension. Apparently they think very highly of him.

Ha ha ha ha. He's a career .507 coach. In that sense the Jets are getting exactly what they should expect give or take a few wins. Has there ever been a coach with more tenure and a worse winning percentage? Seriously I would be surprised if he doesn't have the worst coaching record ever for a long tenured head coach.

It was on a broadcast recently, from memory I think he said he wasn't a #1 goalie or something to that . I thought wow, that's a nice thing to say about the guy you need to be your "#1 goalie"

Annnd here's a funny article pointing out the poor goalie stats under Maurice:

Cheveldayoff is more of a problem for the Jets than Maurice.

When the Jets decide that they want to play they look really scary good but that's becoming rare these days. They take way too many stupid penalties which to me is their biggest problem. I find them an exciting team to watch offensively but their defence needs some work. Can't hang it all on the goalies. Might be some character / dressing room chemistry issues what with all the dumb penalties.. But only the players know for sure... While my hometown is a dump compared to Calgary that shouldn't be an issue

Poor goaltending, poor dicipline especially by guys like Big Buff, clearly putting himself above the team. A coach that's pretty much lost, a GM that's scared of his shadow.

On the plus side they can keep bragging about their prospect base, but that doesn't always translate into being a good NHL team.

Why are Jets fans mad? It's not like their goaltending can get any worse with the two guys they've been playing with.

Jets have all the pieces to be a powerhouse. Insane defensive depth. Good forward depth with some pure elite talents. And goaltending depth that's struggling right now. The coaching has to go.

Ah the old argument,

You know on paper this team has it all? Depth and all of that stuff.

We've seen insanely loaded teams fail because the whole on paper thing doesn't mean anything.

The Jets might have bad chemistry, bad leadership, it could be bad coaching or a combination of all three.

It might be time to panic, rip each others skulls open and feast on the brains inside.

They have been undisciplined for years now and that's always on the coach as it's his job to reign that in. They have solid defensive talent but they don't play a great team game much like Hartley's Flames and that's on the coach as well. The goaltending hasn't been great but some of that can be attributed to their team game not being up to snuff.

Every time I see Maurice after a loss, he looks like he's going to cry. If he doesn't have the answers, it's time for him to move on.

.507 W/L or .507 possible points?

Pretty sure firing of a head coach is bigger news than an AHL player recall.

For anyone ripping on Maurice for this, please read.

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/p...orse-actually/

This guy has basically never had a decent goalie in his whole career.

Apparently Jacob Troubas brother TJ has some bs job that lets him live in Winnipeg and keep his brother company. Andrew Ladd's wife was hired by the Jets too.

Craig Heisingers (an exec for the Jets) son is the new assistant coach of the Moose. A friend of mine, Scott, jokes that our team is being run like a car dealership. I had no idea how bad it was.

Ticket prices have gone up by 17% since day 1. The Jets command revenue in the middle of the league and yet still spend the least on their roster (or bottom 3 depending on the season and metric).

I'm so disillusioned by this train wreck of a club. When the Jets came back I was so excited to have them back but this team is just a professional money extortion ring for my home town.

This is the lowest I've been since 1996 and and 04 game 7 as a hockey fan.

Insane defensive depth? I'd take the Flames D over Winnipeg any time.

Yeah don't see anything special about the Jets D. Not even top 15 imo. Byfuglien is good offensively but a disaster in his own zone and Trouba is good defensively but doesn't add much offensively.
