I just saw the picture - so no recipe. But I've collected all the info, as I'm going to try and them them before Halloween!:
Cupcakes & Icing: http://www.yummly.com/recipe/Red-Vel...ing-Epicurious
Sugar Glass:
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Light Corn Syrup
Combine the sugar and corn syrup into a sauce pan over medium heat. Use a candy thermometer to check the temperature and keep boiling until it reaches 300°. Add any coloring and/or any flavor oils. Let sit untouched for a few hours, then break it!
NOTE: Do not add the coloring before 300° or else the finished, cooled product will be tacky.
NOTE: Granulated sugar turns a golden yellow color when boiled. If you want it to remain clear, you will need to use Isomalt (sugar free).
NOTE: If they sugar glass looks a little cloudy, you can rub/polish with a little bit of vegetable oil
Fake Blood:
Combine 2 cups of corn syrup, 1 cup of water, 10 tbsp.of flour and 10 tsp. of red food colouring. Add a drop or two of blue food colouring if you want the 'blood' to look fresh.
Edit: Obviously, the recipe for the fake blood is a little excessive. But you get the idea

Back to costume ideas, Anyone have any idea where I could get bright blue mens pants? Not Denim. Preferably tighter and as cheap as possible?

Hmmm maybe check out American Apparel if you're comfortable enough to walk into that store.

The girls stuff might work too if you really want them tight.

Only idea I've got so far is to go as Fran Drescher.
Not sure I can keep that voice up for more than a couple of minutes though.

I'm lazy and will be going as a Mormon again. Inspired by Orgazmo several years ago and more recently again, The Book of Mormon musical.

This is the costume I have for our annual Halloween house party.
It looks really freaky the way it fits. Our dog freaks right out when I put it on.

I saw this years ago, but still one of the best costumes to date I've seen for the bar, if you've got a group to go with. Was on the Hallowe'en pub crawl in Calgary and at one bar we saw a few guys who were all wearing old school Flames jerseys & helmets, and had a huge homemade Stanley Cup with them.
They were pretending they just won the Cup, and were doing the on-ice celey for the whole damn night. Lots of randoms (including myself) got mixed up in their celebration, I drank out of the Cup at one point. Haha it was a pretty awesome costume, got you fired up too. They had good energy goin.

I'm going around the neighborhood with the three foot people who live in my house asking for candy. We are going to dress up so no one can tell who we are. The three footers love it!
