I often learn a lot from a thread for someone I may not have heard of, and often go down an Internet/Wiki wormhole. Definitely won't both checking in with post one thousand and some in a thread like this.

Don’t worry. I’ll bump this on the regular. It’ll only be full of insignificant has-beens and never-weres.

Not me but I’ve long wanted to join one. Any spots open in yours? I’m interested how they work. Is it done like a snake draft? I imagine someone like Mick Jagger would go earlier than, say, Michele Obama.

We should start one. Problem is they’d take so long to play out, I’d imagine.

This thread is probably killing Captain Crunch, just like his own wikipedia day in history thread killed himself.

My buddies and I picked 20 names each and add more each year. Your pick dies at 60 you get 40 points, die at 99 you get 1 point. Subtract from 100, your pick lives to 100, no points.
It's tougher than you think, people insist on living. You'll read the news and be pissed you missed a pick, so obvious.

Do you just mass-pick 20 names with the chance of some overlap with your friends’ picks?
Does anyone have Betty White?

Theres no points to be gained there unless its like a snake system and you get points for every year she lives over 100.
Her Faustian Bargain has paid off in spades.

English comedian Sean Lock passed away after a battle with cancer at just age 58.
https://www.theguardian.com/stage/20...k-dies-aged-58
I saw Sean all the time on Qi and 8 Out Of 10 Cats (and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown). The guy was immensely funny, the sort of laughter that would make your face and lungs hurt.

He was looking and sounding pretty bad lately, so I’m not surprised he was sick, but this is still horrible to hear. He was so funny.
