^When assessing Guerrero, they failed to mention his gold glove defensive play at first base as a factor. Considering it was only his 2nd full season playing the position, that's freakin' remarkable.
Bo's analysis is spot on, so I have no issue with his ranking.
But then they rank Manoah at 51 even though they predict he will win the Cy Young THIS YEAR!
They also seem to drop guys way down in the rankings if they have any injury concerns. I get that you can't contribute if you're injured, but you cannot rank guys based purely on injury concerns. Tim Anderson, a guy I think is one of the purest contact hitters in the game, was in the 60's!
I'm so confused.
Still, pretty impressive to have so many guys in the top 100: Guerrero, Bichette, Manoah, Springer, Chapman, Gausman, Varsho

Nice start by Kikuchi today. Needs to have a bit better control but that velocity and movement will play.

I think it’s a blended ranking based on their experts - so the one guy predicting Manoah Cy Young
The predictions are by different people from player to player .
So maybe that’s it ? But yes a little confusing the method but gives a good picture of the elite players and we have a lot

Between Kikuchi looking amazing and Pearson lighting up the gun again, there’s some definite optimism around the fringes of our rotation. Would be a huge bonus of those guys can see some success this year

I think putting Pearson in the rotation would be a massive mistake. Guy is made for the pen now, let him be a huge asset there.

Oh definitely agreed. Meant to say the fringes of the pitching staff. We need to work Pearson back up for a while

I’m so excited for baseball games that don’t take 4 and a half hours to complete, with shifts that eliminate the need for good athletic defensive 2Bs, who are responsible for probably a good third of all baseball highlights.
I’d love to see more complete games from starters - maybe these pitch clocks and shift bans will allow for more of that.
Baseball is grand.

I really hope I'm wrong about this but I think this year they build him up, and when he shows just enough I think this off-season they trade him. It's a shame because I think his ceiling is still crazy high. It's again, just his confidence.

I’m playing MLB The Show 23 right now. It’s probably not 100% accurate but Rogers Centre looks amazing with the new outfield.

Kikuchi makes the rotation to start the season. Had an impressive spring, would be huge if he could sustain that all season.

Might want to check those tickets! Jays open on the road in St Louis and don’t play at home until their 11th game of the year.

Yup. Tickets are for the home opener. I also just realized the announcement was for opening day starter on the road as opposed to home. Damn, was hoping he’d be the home opener starter.

Well hey, game 11 lines him up for that one too! Assuming they go 1-5 twice through

Pearson rounding out the pen puts them in good shape.

Great depth. It would be nice if they could add another lefty to give Mayza a break.

A bit off topic, but I found a youtube video that copied from this article about how often MLB teams have their retractable roofs open:
https://www.foxweather.com/learn/mlb...frequency-data
Toronto at 54% of the time is pretty good; but what gets me is the texas teams and Miami: Rangers just above 10%, Astros under 10%; miami at only 2 games in 2021!
Whats the point of spending all that money on a retractable roof
