Xinjiang, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, & Tajikistan? 6 or 7 years ago? Or are you looking for someone currently doing fun and exciting things (in which case it definitely isn't me)?

I thought this might be appropriate to put here:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/wow-...rope-1.3251746
A discount airline from Iceland will be offering flights from Canada (Toronto and Montreal) to Europe for $250. It will be $100 from Canada to Iceland, and then $150 to other destinations in Europe.
That is wicked.

I was not planning on Croatia on my next trip, but decided to hit at the least, the Istrian peninsula. Need to see Pula and Rovinj. Will also see Zagreb.
Pula:

Calgaryboy loves Biograd for sun beach and attractions. He also recommends Plitvice Park for waterfalls, etc.
Had I more time for Croatia I would see Split, Dubrovnik and some islands.
My problem is if I went that far south then I would have to go to Montenegro also. And Bosnia. And Albania. And so on.
So this time I will only skirt the north part of Croatia.

Air travel question: the last 2-4 times my family (2 adults, 2 kids 9 & 10) and I have travelled we've been unable to check-in online before the flight. We jump through all the hoops online with the entering our information/passports etc and when we get to the end it says we're unable to check-in online. It's been Air Canada the last couple times.
Any idea why this might be happening? We usually fly a couple times a year and it's only been the last couple that we're unable to check-in online.
I've asked the desk person the last couple times and they haven't been able to tell me. Thought I'd check here.

Do you have anyone with a hyphenated last name? Or two middle names? Sometimes in either of those cases the system has to squish the names together so when you enter the info it doesn't match and tells you that you have to check in online.

That was it. My middle name wasn't included on my passport the last time I renewed and I've always added it to my bookings. The two didn't match so it was being flagged.

Haven't posted on CP about this, but 7 months ago I made the exciting decision to quit my job and travel around the world for a little over a year with my wife.
So far we've spent time in Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Antarctica(!!), Portugal, France, and Belgium. Off to Africa next!

Bravo. That takes more guts than I had at your age. (I’m assuming you’re younger than I am, which is probably pretty safe.)

Great blog - Arequipa Peru really is a lovely city. I would go back just for the restaurants. Thanks for great photos, and bringing back my memories of Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Bolivia.
I thought the entry about how big Argentina is interesting, but one correction:
"distance between the Argentina/Bolivia border to Ushuaia is 5,150km, that’s just as far as LA is from Dublin!"
Los Angeles to Dublin. 5163 miles / 8309.04 km

Appreciate the fact check troutman, I'll have to update that.
Arequipa was one of our favourites....so much to do, great food, affordable. We hunkered down there for a few weeks to take Spanish lessons.

Been awhile since this thread has been used.
I know not many people are traveling for awhile but if your so inclined:
Westjet is flying to Hawaii return for $424 - April Spring break. that dropped from $704
My family couldn't resist. So I booked it.
I'm sure there are other deals to be had but I'd thought I'd point out this one.

That flight savings covers rapid testing costs to avoid quarantine.

Alberta has already confirmed that we will be getting rapid testing. Also by April, i figure rapid testing will be more of the norm.
Either way. We saved $1200 on this and if we are to pay for rapid testing then it would be less then half that. A worthwhile savings for sure.

I’ll have to check for a similar deal to Maui.
