Damnit, so brilliant, and like Stephen Wright was kind of the king of dry delivery. I still remember him being the host of SNL news during the bad periods of the show, and for that brief period of time SNL had moments of brilliance.
RIP Norm.

I was hoping it was a hoax as this is sad news. Pretty amazing he managed to keep his health under wraps for almost a decade. Has there ever been a better deadpan comedian?
His Weekend Update segments are the stuff of legend. I like that he wasn't afraid to make the risky jokes. Comedy should feel a little dangerous. It just got a little less dangerous today.
RIP Norm, you'll be missed.

^ That joke is a great example of his tireless commitment to delivering a joke, taking an endless amount of time to get there, only to realize the punchline is ridiculously stupid. For Norm, the journey to the punchline was far more enjoyable than the joke itself. Not many comedians do that style of humor anymore.

Saw him live a couple times. This is a real bummer. I've joked for years that it should be mandatory for Norm MacDonald to have a small cameo in every movie.
