U2 is confirmed as one of the headliners for Bonnaroo, the rest of the lineup is going to be announced tomorrow morning. RHCP is heavily rumoured to be headlining as well.

The Bonnaroo announcement is pretty early this year compared to previous years. I wonder if the consecutive years of lackluster lineups forced their hand.
Has anyone heard whether Squamish is coming back this year?

Wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, there's been quite a bit of backlash since they were bought out by Live Nation.
I went in 2014, mostly because the lineup was phenomenal. Some friends and I are leaning towards going back this year, assuming the lineup is solid.

Wow, what an absolutely abysmal lineup for Bonnaroo. Decent headliners for sure but Live Nation has absolutely gutted the soul of that festival. Hooray for yet another giant frat boy, dbag, EDM and rape party.

For reference, here was the very first Bonnaroo lineup. It's a real shame what they've done to it. I know my previous post sounds like I'm ####ting on ravers and the EDM crowd, but it was mostly in jest and I'm not. I think everyone should get to have festival for their music. Bonnaroo has totally crowded out and discarded their traditional audience, and it's not like they weren't making money before. It'd be kind of like if Shambhala or EDC randomly started packing their fests with punk and metal acts. Their fans would be rightly pissed.

Yeah it's really odd what happened to Bonnaroo. Live Nation bought them last year, but they have been on the downswing for a few years.
Nowadays, who the hell wants to go to the middle of butt-#### Tennessee and camp on the surface of the sun for 5 days to see U2 and the Chili Peppers? Every band on that lineup can be seen elsewhere for a lot less hassle.

I think they really turned a lot of people off in 2008 with the Kanye fiasco and then inviting him back a few years later. A lot of the Roo regulars felt it was a pretty big slap in the face and I can imagine that the makeup of the audience probably started to turn around that point as well. It's really too bad because Bonnaroo was where you'd go if you wanted epic jam band sets like MMJ playing for 2.5 hours in the rain starting at 2 AM. Now these festivals are all pretty much clones of each other. It'll be interesting to see what Sasquatch comes up with because they, Roo, and SXSW were always kind of appealing to similar crowds.

Going to Coachella for the first time this year. The lineup isn't as great as I'd hope, but still looking forward to it.
