Looks like a great fest. Quite a few smaller but terrific acts.

This has to be a joke. Probably the worst line up ever.

*I apologize if anyone is excited by that lineup... just my opinion.

Absolutely the worst lineup ever. Fully agreed.

What I don't get, is last year they cancelled the show in Vancouver because the could not get a good enough lineup. Then they roll out this crap for Montreal. How bad could it have been last year for Vancouver?

Edit: Live would be cool to see though.

So very excited to go to Edmonton Folk Fest to see Slaid Cleaves. I was looking around the NW USA for close to Calgary venues, and saw he'll be performing up there. Wicked.

Honestly, I've never gone to it. Probably because I'm not a huge fan of concerts. It's recently moved to just outside of downtown but it's right on the river so I'm guessing it's a great venue.

I think the problem is the name. It's not just a Blues festival anymore and gets tons of acts that have little to do with the Blues but maybe people just see Bluesfest and don't know that it's got lots of good non-Blues acts.

They played for free at the Coca Cola Stage at the Stampede 2 years ago...

I didn't like their attitude though, you could tell they HATED playing their old (popular) songs and wanted sooo badly for the audience to listen to their new (unpopular) stuff -- but to everyone but them, the new stuff sucked (IMO).

That being said, they did finally get to the old stuff and rocked it out pretty well.

That Ottawa line-up looks wicked. I've been wanting to see 'The National' live but they seem to keep a pretty low profile.....

Last year's line-up was pretty IMO. My highlight was Bettye Lavette and that's about it. Good venue though outside of the war museum. Looks like an amazing line-up this year.
