I don't know about you losers, but my neighborhood of Upper Mounty looks pretty goddamn nice. Study more in school, you'll get a better neighborhood.

Also, why in the hell was there ever grass next to roads, has that ever worked? Good thing you are laying sod next to the Ring Road.

Need some car flipping boulders instead of grass or mulch.

I've heard rocks and stones aren't great as they can add to a heat island effect.

Problem is anybody who goes the mulch route does so because it's easy and cheap. A guy with that mindset absolutely does not keep up with it like they should. And even if they do, the older mulch eventually breaks down and weeds start growing out of it. It's just a really bad product.

That's a good point. A rock base is good, but you should sprinkle in hardy local shrubbery to keep things looking pleasant/alive and to reduce the heat effect.

There's lots of different types of mulches out there, including stone. Depending on the right location / site and the city's maintenance plan for it, it could be just fine.

I put landscape fabric under my mulch and get maybe one or two weeds a year through the holes I cut for other plants. No maintenance flower bed other than topping it up every year or two
