Doubt it.
McKenzie did an article a few days ago on the strongest candidates for the WJC, Mangiapane is not mentioned:
http://www.tsn.ca/position-battles-i...squad-1.391992
Also from what I saw at the Russia-Canada series a few days ago, while Mangiapane's line (Mangiapane-Speers-Senyshen) was full of energy, I don't think he did enough to stand out.

Reminder: Team QMJHL will play Russia tonight and Thursday @ 5pm MT. Mason McDonald is one of the goalies on the roster, but it is unclear if he will start tonight and/or next game.
Tonight's game will be on Sportsnet, while Thursday's game will be on Sportsnet 360

McDonald did not start.
Montembault has let 2 goals on 4 shots so far. Just past the halfway point of the 1st period

Speaking of McDonald, there are rumblings he might get traded to a different QMJHL team.
Charlottetown is near the bottom of the QMJHL standings. With the emergence of 16 year old Matthew Welsh as their potential future starter and McDonald slated to go pro next season, the Islanders could get a piece for their future by trading him to another team. And hopefully McDonald gets a long playoff run out of it.

McDonald will start. per Sam Constineo, McDonald has been battling lower body issues to start this season, but he thinks he is healed up now

McDonald does not panic at all. Stark contrast to some of the scrambiy saves we see from Ramo from time to time.

Interesting note. Phillipe Myers attended Flames development camp this past summer. He attended Flyers training camp where the Flyers signed him to a NHL contract

Russia scores off the faceoff 4-3. Kind of a weak goal to give up by McDonald

Russia scores one with the goalie pulled.
It was a pretty nice pass for a one timer that was labelled for the top corner.
6-4 QMJHL with less than a minute left
