I wonder how far they will the Jack Ryan stories and if we'll ever get to the "Hunt for the Red October" era with this Amazon incarnation of the series.
Do you mean a tv soft reboot of the movie as a season arc? That got me hard thinking about it.

Exactly what I mean, I am hoping we get that far. We are early still in Jack Ryan's career as a CIA analyst so far with the Amazon version and several years until he has his kid, they could totally get there with a few years with the CIA in Russia.
I need to watch the movie again.

I'm still itching for a TV/film adaptation of Rainbow 6. By far my favorite Clancy book.
x2, There was talk a couple of times over the years to get a movie, I remember John Woo was attached at some point. But I don't think A Sum Of All Fears helped that...
Watched Jack Ryan over the past 3 days. Really enjoyed it.
Man in the High Castle was the first Prime series I started, but didn't finish season 2. Now that I know another season is on it's way, maybe I'll revisit it.
Loved Bosch.
Tried You Are Wanted and American Gods, but neither captured my attention.
Also... they have Unsolved Mysteries. I had to watch a few of those to remind me of the shear terror that theme song inflicted me with as a child.
To revisit my earlier point, you have dozens of bad guys attacking an American black site in Yemen for 15-20 minutes and no falking drones, no air support?! Come on, how much BS can the audience swallow? Those attackers would have been vaporized 60 seconds in, and even if they made the getaway, their convoy would have been vaporized on the way out. Somebody with real military knowledge, convince me there wouldn't be a drone orbiting that site... Otherwise, I cannot buy into this show.

Spoiler!
Well it was a remote outpost with no "official" US military presence, it was mainly Yemeni military with a handful of American special forces. The escape didn't bug me as much as how inept they showed those special forces to be, no one thought to actually search or identify the bodies they were paying bounties for? No one thought to lob a grenade or two at the main gate to obliterate the attacking force? And let just sit out in the open firing our guns instead of finding any cover
Episode 2 wasn't any better, they made the French SWAT team look like a bunch of tools. I like the story and actors so far, but screwing up technical details (which was always Clancy's biggest strength) is really hampering my enjoyment of the show

well this is disappointing, my Roku doesn't have a prime app.
That and the fact that my family is pretty entrenched in the Apple ecosystem is why we finally decided to get an AppleTV. Have to say I miss plugging my headphones in to my Roku remote, though. That was a nice feature.

And now with the hostages being used as "bio-weapons". Come on - are the writers that ignorant? Don't they know that every time that Americans rescue or trade for someone, they put them through quarantine and medical assessments at the giant AFB in Germany... whose name escapes me now? Like, fa(u)lk, put some effort into this. I am pretty much done with the show.

Finished Jack Ryan, and it's a solid meh from me. Production value was very high, but other than the budget this thing reeked of CBS primetime schlock. Plot holes galore, zero attention to detail, and a very rushed ending, likely because they spent so much time on characters that had absolutely nothing to do with the main plot
If this is an example of Amazon's best original programming then they're laughably behind Netflix in that department
