You remember the last time a King was in the mix for the scoring race? It's a Darryl Sutter team dude. He'll get way more points playing with our offensive D.

My scouting report on the Kings based on that one game I watched them:
- Kopitar is now centering Lucic and Toffoli and has had 7 points in his last 3 games.
- Tyler Toffoli is on fire. He's turning into a poor mans Iginla scoring every-which way and playing a heavy game to go with it.
- Muzzin-Martinez is probably the best second defense pairing in the league. Getting chances on them is impossible.
- Doughty-McNabb, their top pairing on the other hand, is exploitable as McNabb is prone to inexperienced mistakes and Johnny has generally gotten the better end of that matchup so far in the head-to-heads.
- Jeff Carter is likely going to miss the game.
- Nick Shore in Carter's absence has looked really, really good as the 2C. He is possibly the best defensive centre in the league - dominant at faceoffs, gets his stick in every lane, and then dominates possession going the other way. His 62.5% corsi-for leads his team and the entire NHL and it's by no fluke when you watch him play. Luckily he does have hands of stone so Ramo just needs to be sharp.
-Especially with Carter out their depth centres are a bit explotable and are weak on faceoffs.
-Jordan Weal is a talented rookie but he's prone to trying creative plays that sometimes get him caught defending.
-Dustin Brown is starting to look like the pre-knee injury Dustin Brown. His 7 points in 13 games in December is his best month since March-June 2014 when they won the Cup.
-Gaborik has been struggling. Totally snakebitten the way Bennett is. Pearson is going to be the best player on their 2nd line.

That is true.
Sutter would probably try to turn him into a defensive 3rd line winger.

Toffoli has been hot this year.
No Jeff Carter though is good news for us!

Remember when Calgary beat LA to make it into the playoffs and bump the Kings out last year?
Pepper Ridge Farms remembers.

And not a single Dman would hit 40 points.
(We'd win more games though.)

Can you imagine how many points Doughty would get if he played for the Flames? He'd probably be up there with Karlsson.
Edit: Just responding to the Kings players vs. Flames players points thing above

Is there a more negative poster in the entire world? Your posts are always depressing to read.

Am I a lunatic for wanting to try Bennet out on RW with Gaudreau and Monahan?

No Jeff Carter? That's a small blessing, Flames have the Kings number the last couple of years, let's hope that trend continues.
