If these are being released tomorrow, how soon will they be in local Apple stores? My wife needs to buy a new MBP ASAP.

might be there tomorrow... usually they have them the day that they are released online..

Seems like the "Thunderbolt" uses the same port as minidisplay...so can't use both external thunderbolt drive+external drive unless a "splitter" of some sort exists..

interesting.

as per the specs, the 13" is getting a huge upgrade, especially since its going from c2d..

intel light peak event is tomorrow...perhaps they will do a joint with Apple...who knows.

I just can't see them doing the Light Peak (Thunder Bolt) thing without mentioning it during the March 2nd media event. I think the MBP refresh will be the stuff they announce before they get to the iPad. I think they go on sale right after the announcement.

Intel's got their own Light Peak launch event tomorrow morning, so the MBPs will be released during that or right afterwards, I think.

I'm actually kind of disappointed by this.. I see no reason to swap my current core 2 duo out for this one.. I had an i7 previously on my Toshiba and the c2d on my macbook blazes easily as fast as that did.

Yaaaawwwwnnnnn

Hope so, otherwise it's an odd choice between a better screen on the Air or a better CPU on the mbp

CNet reporting the 15"/17" will have discrete AMD graphics. This makes me happy. I've got a 5650 in my windows laptop and it's pretty good. (Also OCs like a champ)

ThunderBolt (larf) I/O, but still stuck at glacier speeds to sync your iPhone.

Looks like I was wrong, which is crazy, because that's only ever happened like once before...

Quad core machines? Nice, finally a decent jump in specs. Bought my dual-core MBP over 4 years ago and I've yet to see an upgrade worth having till now. Resorted to dropping a 500gb hybrid drive into my old machine just to squeeze some more useful time out of it, but it may be time to upgrade.

Store is up now too. Only $200 to upgrade to 8GB of 1333 RAM (2x4GB). Nice!
