Homeless Bob comes into the Legion most mornings. I think he sleeps outside. He is always in a snowmobile suit, no matter the weather. He talks to himself. We offer him free coffee. He is always polite and grateful.

It sucked. It was way overpriced. The toppings were the opposite of generous. The quality was mediocre at best.
I hate being too mean but it has zero appeal. I will not be going back. Ever. Some times a second chance is deserved. Not this place. I see no scenario where they redeem themselves.

I was told the one in Okotoks is worth the trip, but haven't made the effort yet.

I'm in Airdrie today and stopped into Home Hardware--mostly to verify that it’s a real store and not just some elaborate money-laundering front propped up by hockey commercials or something (like Safeway Score & Win).
Turns out, it actually exists, and it’s a surprisingly pleasant shopping experience. A little bit of everything and you're not wandering around looking at the same #### for aisles and aisles with only one employee per square kilometer who doesn't actually know anything. Like Totem before Rona got its hands on it and completely bastardized it.
It's really too bad these don't exist in Calgary.

huh, good to know. I somehow won $50 home hardware gc on roll up the rim. I was wondering how or where I would even use it.

There's one in Strathmore too.
I think I remember someone saying they tried to get one in Chestermere but they didn't approve them (not big enough probably).

There used to be a HH on 41st Ave NE, closed a few years ago. It was a very small store. Cochrane, Airdrie, Okotoks, High River and Strathmore all have one.

Invermere HH is great, though it suffered a real blow when Canadian Tire came in across the street.

I had the same experience at the Okotoks one. Prices were pretty much on par with HD, but people seemed to want to help you if needed.
For those collecting Scene points, you can also pay using those. Free shipping over $99. I try to shop at HH whenever I can now... nevermind being a Canadian company, it's just a better shopping experience overall.

Chestermere is bigger than Strathmore now so that's odd.
I like HH a lot. It's like a condensed Canadian Tire. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Peavy Mart is now gone. I have fond memories of going there with my uncle to get stuff for the farm.

Strathmore serves a much bigger area than just the town itself and is far enough from Calgary the math probably changes.. while you can drive to the 52nd Street Rona from Chestermere very quickly.
Cause yeah Strathmore has waaay more stuff than Chestermere but I assume that it's Chestermere's proximity to Calgary that limits stuff building here.
