It wouldn't even be unheard if she retired. Many have retired at and around 25 which Osaka is now. Clijsters retired the first time at 23. Tracy Austin also around 23. Hingis at 22. Borg of course at 26. It's just all magnified more now.

Next up for Felix, the winner of Rublev vs. Tiafoe.

Man, sucks to miss a night of tennis like this. I looked at the results and was like, "Oh hey, Alcaraz ended up beating Tsitsipas, neat... Wow, Felix with a huge 5 set win over RBA, that's amazing! ... WAIT - LEYLAH ####ING WON?!?"

Now I have to stay up to see if Tiafoe takes out Rublev (Frances leads 2 sets to 1)

Problem with staying up is that if there is a 5th set you have to stay up for that too!

It's going to take like 14 hours to play 4 matches on Ashe

Tiafoe was serving at 4-2 in set 4 and dropped four straight games. This could be a runaway for Rublev in set 5 or a 5th set tie-break may be required.

My goodness, Frances is just coming up with spectacular shots when he really needs them.

Looking at the draw, you have to like Felix's chances of making the semis where he would take on either Medvedev or Schwartzman

You know, considering how frustrating the Canadian men have been at times, I look at Tiafoe and think it must be even worse to be an American fan. Here's a guy with all the tools, can win a 5 setter against a top ten player, and yet he's never been higher than 29 and is currently languishing in the 50's. Why has he not made a leap?

His forehand is wildly inconsistent. It's just a really awkward style.

Only in some situations - his cross court forehand is generally pretty solid from what I've seen. He does push some shots. But everyone has a couple of weaknesses (except Djokovic). I don't know, for me his level of success so far doesn't come close to his talent.

Yeah, if you look at his match record he loses to a lot of lesser players in early rounds. He sometimes even plays challengers just to get game action.

Also he gets ####ty draws, this US Open is one of his better draws not meeting a top 10 player until round 3.

Watched about two games of Bianca and... yeah this isn't close. Basically a walkover. Good momentum though.

Interesting listening to the story on the broadcast about lucky losers. Minnen is ranked 100+ and got in as one of 6 lucky losers. She then won 2 main draw more matches and will make $180,000 for losing in round 3. That money could sustain her for a couple of years.

So going for an early morning tennis hit with the wife before the rain comes in was the right call?
