Florida has been playing intense, high energy, high effort hockey for weeks, and a blip was inevitable. They turned it off early in the second, and are on cruise control. I doubt this result has any impact on them whatsoever. In fact, let Edmonton run it up to 10 and think that the first 3 games were just bad luck and they can keep on going as is…

I like that they think Florida has tried very hard since the 4th or 5th goal.

Let the scumbags score 10 goals- a greaser win was likely to happen. Didn’t expect 8-1… but who cares. Like somebody said earlier this was an anomaly, oilers desperate, Panthers not on their game. Burn the tape, stay the course and finish these entitled d-bags off. Then all the clown oilers fans in Alberta can go home and cry.

Panthers really don't stand a chance against this mighty Oilers team.
They were the better team in arguably all 4 of the games.

Cup is coming to Edmonton and there's no more deserving player to hoist it than Darnell Nurse. What a champ.

Stanley Cup champion Darnell Nurse. That just sounds so fitting woo! Can't wait to watch it.

Game 5 is gonna be a war. But I predict Edmonton wins and coasts to a cup win after. Oilers will not lose again on home ice and if they win 3 in a row, panthers will be so rattled they have no chance in game 7.
This is exactly what the oilers needed. A close 2-1 win wouldn’t have been enough. They needed to crush Florida and they did.

Honestly it feels so good to finally cheer for a winner. I’ve been an oilers fan for over 2 weeks and this is the first time the oilers won since I’ve converted. I was starting to think I was the bad luck charm.

Seeing some shots post-game...that should have been at least a 5 minute major (and maybe a game) for kneeing, not a 2 minute minor "tripping".

Just poked my head in the HF boards...they are whining that not enough penalties were called against the Panthers...
 What a trash fanbase.

Oilers were always likely to win 1 at home.Just imagine they won game 3 and lost 4. Same series score but we'd all be really happy right now.
 Feel that way.

			Whatever.
Panthers up 3-1, going home needing to win one of the next 3 games, 2 of which are going to be played in Florida. No need to panic.

You won one game at home, and still need to win every single game left. Amazing job Edmonton. What a feat.
