Man, I wish Reddit didn't implode. I see this board is still just a hot mess of boomer arguments.

Conroy made a big offer to say that he tried all he could, secretly hoping Lindholm would refuse because it's too much, but he took it. Thats why Conroy the pitcher is pissed and the hitter is screaming: "you sucker!"

Like anyone has an extra $10M of cap lying around LOL.
Like anyone really has a changed opinion of him based on a few weeks of good work.

Lindholm it's really in his court, I think Calgary has tabled their best offer its sub 9x8 and it's up to him if he wants to sign it. Teams are still touching base however teams that were hot and heavy before got to pick up less risky options for cheap...Duchene in Dallas for example plugging that need. The offers were a joke prior to the draft and on draft day because teams were all talking about buyouts are likely to happen with cap increasing. Additionally the cap uncertainty is also creating a issue. I believe he gets traded and Calgary made a honest attempt to get him signed.
Hanifin agent Pat Brisson has been working closely with Conroy to get a deal facilitated before the start of the season but Noah will show up to camp if no deal in place. I believe Noah isn't looking for a home run amount of money and location is more important. Calgary is not interested in taking on 28+ cap from teams in this deal which has been a sticking point.
If I can get my Backlund information confirmed, I will share it but he's at the crossroad.

This is great!
Thank you for sharing all this intel!!
You would have to think they would have taken Michkov if they ended up at #5.
I don't think giving up arguably the best goalie prospect in the league would have been smart.
I heard that the Flames had Honzek at #9 in their rankings. Makes me wonder who the other 2-3 they had ahead of him were.
Figure the top 5 picks and Michkov would be ahead of him. Maybe Leonard and Benson were the others?

I can't share draft rankings but If Calgary got there I think Michkov would of been a no brainer. He will be better than Bedard but that's like comparing Ovi to Crosby you'd love to have either.

Yeah I found it interesting that the Flames appeared to meet with Michkov and he took a picture with Iggy that he shared and captured as "Legend"
If Flames got into the top 6 I think they would have taken him and he was open to it.

I can't see anyone touching that Bob contract. He was unreal at points, but also looked like a few teams just managed to solve him at points. He's also turning 35 and even 3 years of term is too much. Plus he has a NMC, so he's likely not taking a trade to the usual dumping grounds.

Id love to comment on Calgary's information coming from MHL/KHL but I can't because it's top secret and some of the BEST in the NHL.

We're talking very hypothetical but that would have been risky. like a college player but more so, heard he wanted one team or just two teams and strong armed his way to his preferred choice

Damn, can we convince them on a Huby?
As an aside, I'm firmly on the appreciation train for your posts and insights, so thanks for posting them! I know I'd rather frantically F5 to a random gif than work, so already a win!

Why would we not have pulled the trigger on a Wolf+ deal is nuts. Wolf will have difficulty adjusting to the NHL.
Give me Michov every day over Wolf. We can find another Voodoo goalie elsewhere.

Maybe we were the other team?
As someone who likes the Flyers, I was pretty happy to see him end up there.
The best part about the two conference setup in the league is I can cheer for Eastern teams for 80 regular season games of the year and in theory wouldn't have to cheer against them in the playoffs for the first 3 rounds in any given year.
Philly and Ottawa are a couple of my favs right now.

No point if Michkov doesn’t want to be in Calgary.

That remains to be seen. He may have trouble or he may adjust well. Maybe not so much he steals the starting job from Markstrom this season but that he easily takes over in 2 or 3 years.

I think you only do Wolf+ if it got you into the top 3.
Ya, goalies are voodoo, but with Michov, your watching your prized asset play pro hockey for a few years elsewhere, and have zero control over his development.
That is a lot of risk…
