These simpering, pandering, brown-nosing on court interviews are just unbearable to watch. The interviewer pulling the mic away just so that he can laugh into it in contrived fashion is painful.

Welp... Bianca looked nervous in her opening game, but on the return, it frankly looks like Townsend is going to have to earn every point.
That break conversion was absolute murder. Her backhand is so deep and powerful there's no chance to come in and not much chance to return it even if you did.

Good hold after saving 3 break points. Just really needs to get a handle on the serve. Winning a game after 2 double faults isn't exactly going to happen against most players.
Also, look where Townsend is standing receiving the 2nd serve. She's almost in SABR territory.
