Never success of any form. Miss the playoffs. Lose their pick. McDavid trade request rumours start coming out with only two years left. Management not countenancing any thing and spending heavily on free agency in C+ players to help improve the depth. Miss the playoffs again.
No! They should not be anywhere near a draft Lottery their chances at winning a cup are a lot smaller than them winning the lottery. Lord could you imagine if they added Mckenna after missing the playoffs but winning the number one pick?
They would be insufferable on a level that can scarcely be imagined.
Let them make the playoffs. Get destroyed. Trade talk about mcshouldhavesignedsomewherelse all the rest of the year; or it was just a one off year.
Seen a panel on Sportsnet (maybe TSN) today projecting the defense grouping for Team Canada. All of them had Bouchard on the team. How does that happen? He’s one of the worst defenseman in the league who regularly gets pyloned by elite players. That is a disaster.
I may have to cheer for another country if he is on the team, just another example of Hockey Canada not wanting to win.

Honestly, Watching the Oilers go to the finals 2 years in a row and having to watch them get a high pick now will be hard enough, but if they leap frog the Flames in the draft order, and especially if it's in the top 3, that could be enough to just make me done with the NHL.

My dream scenario is that the Oilers' pick comes in at 11 or 12 this year and they exercise the option to keep the pick. Since it's not the #1 pick, the picture on the cover of the Hockey News is no help to their illiterate scouts and they draft a schlub who never plays for them. Then the wheels completely fall off and the Sharks get the Oilers' unprotected 1st next year.

Hatred must have come from Tkachuk and the battle of Alberta, that's why I didn't mind Tkachuk leaving he had to do what he had to do to win. If he saw he had a chance to win here he would've stayed but after Gaudreau left the writing was on the wall.
Here's one; I don't recommend reading it though as it took me 20 minutes to remove the stink from my computer.
Amongst the gems are a calling out of the Flames.
But before we get started, let’s just take a minute to rejoice in the fact that as bad as things are for the team in Alberta’s capital, at least they’re not the Calgary Flames.
Those low-down, no-good dirty Flames who stink up the rink on a nightly basis, whenever they get a chance to crawl their sorry carcasses out the basement of the NHL standings, where they have been dwelling all season long.
At 6-13-5, they are the epitome of everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong for an NHL club. Check that, ‘alleged’ NHL club.
I get rivalry, look at this thread alone, however are they really so literally stupid that they cannot see that the two teams are in different development arcs?
I truly look forward to the day that the Flames draft and develop pays off because once the glitter twins fade...the grease pigs should anticipate a quarter century of darkness at the least. after all, other than one single lottery ball, which part of Houston would the oilers rink be in?
haha stupid oiler and media fanboys.
This is why everything about and around that franchise is no good. I don't recall media printing stuff like this. I know the whole Goala thing got them to call the NHL, but when you lose 10-1 people will call it out because that doesn't happen often.
As mentioned, they just don't seem to get hat Flames are clearly in a rebuild and their team is supposed to be a playoff team if not a cup contender. Right now they don't even sit is a playoff spot. They need to pump those brakes as the team in last place has more regulation wins and actually beat them.

Goala. Awesome. Would anybody have a link to it so I can send it to some Oiler fans? It's been so long.
