Tippett was fired after 44 games last season when the Oilers record was 23-18-3 and the team was 5th in the Pacific.
Today, after 42 games, their record is 21-18-3 and they are 5th in the Pacific.
They need to win their next 2 games to be as good as they were when Tippett was fired.
