Kids in movies are always trash. Always. They ruin everything. There is no film that has kids in a prominent role that is good and I will never be swayed. I regard kids in movies like DESS feels about dogs.
ET
Goonies
Stand By Me
Super 8
Stranger Things
Sixth Sense

All movies I cannot stand. It’s fine, I get that other people like them it’s not for me. I shut the kong and Godzilla trailer off as soon as I saw the “she is the only one who can communicate with him” crap. Booooo. Hopefully they can overcome it and have a good old fashioned gorilla and nuclear lizard punch fest.

There has never been a Kaiju movie ever, in all of history, that has just been a whole movie of monsters beating each other up. There is always, always, a hokey human plot with B-level writing and dialogue. And there always will be. So if you ever go to a kaiju movie expecting there to not be those things, you’re already going to be disappointed.
Well of course. 90 minutes of action would have a $500 million dollar budget.
I would kill for a hokey human side plot with b movie writing. Just remove the kids. They ruin everything. And make the humans slightly less idiotic and incompetent. It’s all I ask.

What we need is Anaconda or Deep Blue Sea but with Godzilla and King Kong

How old is considered a kid?
What about
Home Alone
Little Miss Sunshine
Big
Karate Kid
It
Iton Giant
Sandlot
Do the teenage movies of John Hughes count or Back to the future?? Probably not as they have adults playing kids in some roles

I don’t want to totally derail the thread but I don’t particularly like any of those, can’t stand most John Hughes films, and back to the future is awesome but Marty was like 40 that doesn’t even count.
Its funny looking at things like the Shaw VOD, there's just nothing all that interesting on the Tuesday releases. Crave used to run their premiere's on Friday and Saturday, but I think they've thrown in the towel on Friday releases.

Yooooo does being on HBOMAX mean we get it on Crave too?
Come on baby, let me avoid the theaters permanently.
The impression I'm under is that we might be able to get them on Crave+HBO but we'd have to pay extra unlike the US, more like what Disney did for Mulan.

Unfortunately I don't think that is the case, theater release here than Crave, or so I understand
“As with Wonder Woman 1984, Warner Bros. has decided that in the United States, these films will be released in both theatres and on HBO Max (for a limited period of time). The concurrent window on HBO Max is restricted solely to the United States. Warner Bros. is not making such a window available in any other territory, including Canada. While these movies will be released initially in theatres in Canada, they will be coming to Crave following their standard theatrical windows. Warner Bros.
I’m not watching Dune until I can see it in theatre. I’m offended that anyone, with anything but the absolute nicest $20k home theatre set up, would even consider watching it at home. On cable no less. Cable! You’re gonna watch Dune in some heavily compressed signal that equivalent to 720p? Gross.
We’re not talking 4K on a 100in projection. And even then, I still question it.
It’s not like there would even be kids in the theatre. It’s Denis Villeneuve, there’s like a 90% chance it’ll bomb. I saw blade runner 2049 on opening weekend and it was dead.
I’m half kidding, I know not everyone cares about such things.

I guess I'm going to offend you, because I'll watch it at home! I don't have a 20k setup, but I'd rather watch it at home on my projector than deal with other people at a theatre. Plus I can have wine while I watch. I'll find something nicer than compressed 720p though.
