Agreed in fact I thought this episode was possibly one of the worst ever. So much ridiculousness I don't even know where to start. You have Tyreese leaving two young girls with a crying baby in the middle of the forest just to check out some random strangers screaming. I was shaking my head in disbelief that the writers would pull something so heavy handed and stupid. Daryl is a tracker that is skilled enough to spot the stepped on berries but misses the smelly diaper Tyreese tossed a few feet away. The bus scene was just bad. I get that Glenn had some upper body armor but to walk through the walkers without being worries bout a bit anywhere on his body which was still largely unprotected. Again multiple scenes where characters pull off head shots like they are trained military. Oh and that one young girl is just a terrible actor. Looked to me like the writers realized that they had to make up for a little slow pacing from the last episodes and condensed the other side stories into one episode without any quality control.

Yeah it was a bad episode.

Why did Glen collapse at the end anyways? Still sick? -- he hadn't been showing any ill effects in this episode up to that point. In fact he plowed his way through a horde of about twenty zombies all by himself, just walking. Sometimes the zombies are impossibly heavy/strong but he pushed them aside like little children.

Oh, and Tyrese/Carole just leaving that guy there, in physical and emotional agony, about to die and turn into a zombie. You don't at least put him down?

Yeah that was another one. I don't get why they let him die a miserable death and turn. Seems like you would almost be tempting fate that he would come back and haunt you.

The flu can kick the crap out of people in ideal conditions.....They are living under less than ideal locations.

After a day spent running around in his zombie armour he would be dehydrated.

The scene was to replicate issue 53's cover,

Spoiler!

I found this episode infinitely better than the first of this season. Not amazing or anything but not completely garbage like the last.

Biggest issue was Glenn tackling his way out of the zombie horde, but whatever they wanted to add some suspense. I think him collapsing was fine, sick then running around (and showing exceptional strength) with the armour on.

Tyresse's decision to leave the children made sense to me. He wasn't just looking for random strangers, he lost his sister only a short time ago. That could have been her or someone who was with her shouting. It also might have been farther away than what we might be expecting, if he's thinking he might have to run a kilometer quickly it's a lot easier without the children and baby. Especially if he thinks he might have to book it out of there quickly as well (obviously with the screams it shouldn't be expected to be a safe place he's running to).

I get the feeling that the writers know a significant portion of viewers are easy to troll and are taking advantage for fun. seems like they've struck that balance of making the characters just infuriating enough to get people to tear their hair out online, but not quite enough to make them stop watching.

that being said, there isn't much fricken appreciation going on here. maybe there should be a dedicated "The Walking Dead is no good" thread.

I don't know if there has ever been a show that bothers me as much as this show does yet I have faithfully watched every episode. So many high points to keep me going but so many things that annoy me about the story and characters.

After last episode I was only willing to give it one more shot. If this episode would have been as bad as the first it would have been my last.

Still not sold, going to need a solid string of episodes for me to continue watching. And I can't recall really giving up on a series, some took me longer to finish, but I made it through Heroes.

Yah, I'm super annoyed that a show about a zombie apocalypse can have such holes in the plot and unbelievable events.

I wonder if losing Glen Mazzara is having a bigger impact than first thought? I really loved the episodes he wrote in seasons 2 and 3 (seed, welcome to the tombs, better angels, etc.) and I really feel that this season has been full of pandering to the comics (the scene with the tanks and cars lined up at the prison gates is one).

People are just now getting upset over bad acting, bad writing, inconsistent world rules, and plot holes?

I thought that was a good chunk of the charm of the show from the the first 5 minutes of episode 1.

The subject matter is irrelevant to telling a good story.

The show could be about a post office. If it's done correctly, it will be compelling. The fact this show is based around a zombie apocalypse does not excuse it from some obvious flaws. Plot holes aren't even in the top 10 of things about the show that bother me.

But then they will have an epsiode like the finale of the first half of this season, or the Rick/Shane confrontation which will keep me glued.

I'm not just going to blindly ignore/get over the issues with the show just because it's about zombies.

You obviously don't have children. It makes 0.00 sense for an adult to leave two children with an infant all alone in the forest. If I was Rick and found out he left my infant daughter alone in the forest full of walkers in the care of little girls while he decided to play hero with some random strangers I would shoot him in the head. A man that stupid isn't even worth becoming a zombie. As a father that scene offended me.

That's the other thing- by the 3rd or 4th scream; isn't the woman screaming likely beyond help? And/or is also attracting walkers to the location.

Neither does Tyresse. You keep saying random strangers, they just got separated from his group. It's more likely his sister than a randoms stranger.

So what do you do? Let your sister be killed by zombies and do nothing? Bring the girls to the zombies, losing valuable time getting there and putting the children at much higher risk? Or leave the children, the children who have been trained what to do in situations like this, for 5 minutes?

None are ideal, Tyresse's decision may not have been the best one but he's trying to save his sister. He had a second to come to an emotional decision in a panic and made one. And if Rick is killing the man who saved his daughter while he hightailed it out of there he is a big ######.

Also, Tyresse was saved by a group of children. Not just Lizzie and her sister. So he's already lost a couple on the way, he's just not the best babysitter. I'm not saying it was the proper decision, just that it wasn't terrible writing like half the other decisions made are based on in this show, this one at least had some motivation behind it.

Hey well all like the show and we all know the writing is terrible. There's no need to write up paragraphs trying to convince anyone here that the writers actually thought deep enough to consider any of your reasons. It was simply heavy handed, lazy writing using Tyreese leaving the kids alone as a vehicle to bring Carol back. Nothing more.

Or he cares about his sister.

Like I said, there's about a million terrible decisions we could nitpick but I don't find this too be one. If they wanted it purely for plot to reintroduce Carol, bringing the children to the zombies (which would have been just as lambasted by you I'm sure) and having one get grabbed before Carol comes from behind and stabs him would have added more suspense and brought Carol back in.

But it would have been just as bad, if not far worse, for Tyresse to willingly bring the children and babies to the zombies.

The kid who shot someone to save his life is not capable of watching the baby for 2 minutes while he checks something out?

How old are baby sitters in the normal world, 12? Kids grow up fast in the zombie apocalypse.
