My wife last night "What do you love more, me or to hate the Oilers".

The answer is pretty obvious, but funny that she asked.

The fact you didn't mention divorce/separation tells me she took the answer surprisingly well.

But how much does she hate the Oilers? This is important context.

You didn't cover that in the Pre-Nuptual Agreement?

To put in in perspective, the Flames score at a 2.21 GF/60 rate at 5 on 5. The 2025 Calgary Flames score more goals at 5 on 5 than the 2025 Edmonton Oilers.
Add 31st in 5 on 5 GD/60. Keep out of the box and you beat them almost every time.

Do we want the Oilers losing all their games and winning the lottery or drafting in the top 5 or even top 10? No we absolutely do not.

Come on guys. It's funny as hell when they lose, but it won't be funny when they draft McKenna or (if they're smart - which they aren't) Verhoeff.
I'd like the Oilers to lose every game and then draft the next Yakapov with their pick.

Miss the playoffs and finish in the 17-20 range. Then lose the lottery. Then lose the pick to SJS.

McDavid's head explodes.

Can concrete actually explode after it's set?

This is a trick question like “how do these pants look” or statements like “I’m fine” or “are you okay if my mom stays with us for a few extra days”.

Best of luck CF’88!

thankfully he put in that they would do that "quite easily" as I am not sure the value actually matches up in either of those trades. let alone cap considerations, roster considerations, especially for Nashville, unless Howard/Savioe can slide in and take the spot of a Forsberg, or in any other way that makes sense. But hey. what do I know?
Yeah, while every fanbase can be a little guilty of maybe thinking too highly of the value of their pieces to move, its record levels of kool-aid drinking with oil fans.

Most of their trade proposals for Saros+ involve nurse and retention to make cap work. They genuinely believe Nashville will tie up 9 to 12 million per year for another 4 years for the parts of the oilers that the fans loudly declare are worth nothing and should just be waived.

Their top 2 trade pieces are for rookies projecting under 20 points this year that haven't shown anything that would make them high value. Plus if they are correct and all they need is a goalie to make them win back to back to back (repeated forever) cups, then their 1st rounder is worth the same as our second rounder. But they keep thinking that teams will trade for an oilers first like its already guaranteed to be a 1OA pick.

A few people on HF will point out that they doubt teams will make these deals that are proposed but the masses always point out how actually its a "great deal for the other team" or "to be honest I think the oilers should get more for that".

They will seriously start an entire thread over their about how bad -insert the oiler they are most angry with that day here- is and how they should be waived or bought out or taken out back and beaten with a stick and by the second or third page they have all settled on getting a top 6 piece, a draft pick, and a prospect back for that player.

I want them to be close enough to make the playoff by TDL and trade their first in 27 and make their 26 pick unprotected.

I want them to make the playoffs as a WC and waste 8 days getting steamrolled by Mackinnon and the Aves. They will still think they are close because they made the playoffs.

Never success of any form. Miss the playoffs. Lose their pick. McDavid trade request rumours start coming out with only two years left. Management not countenancing any thing and spending heavily on free agency in C+ players to help improve the depth. Miss the playoffs again.

The quote “swing for the fences” relates to baseball. One might observe that there is no “swing” as they aren’t in the same ballpark, division, league, or even country!

Why yes, yes of course, completely in line with oilers fanboy expectations.

we should continually revisit just how no good the oilers and their media fanboys are.

https://edmontonjournal.com/sports/h...ad-hockey-team

Here's one; I don't recommend reading it though as it took me 20 minutes to remove the stink from my computer.

Amongst the gems are a calling out of the Flames.

But before we get started, let’s just take a minute to rejoice in the fact that as bad as things are for the team in Alberta’s capital, at least they’re not the Calgary Flames.

Those low-down, no-good dirty Flames who stink up the rink on a nightly basis, whenever they get a chance to crawl their sorry carcasses out the basement of the NHL standings, where they have been dwelling all season long.

At 6-13-5, they are the epitome of everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong for an NHL club. Check that, ‘alleged’ NHL club.

I get rivalry, look at this thread alone, however are they really so literally stupid that they cannot see that the two teams are in different development arcs?

I truly look forward to the day that the Flames draft and develop pays off because once the glitter twins fade...the grease pigs should anticipate a quarter century of darkness at the least. after all, other than one single lottery ball, which part of Houston would the oilers rink be in?

haha stupid oiler and media fanboys.

Edmonton Oilers pissed about how Florida Panthers acted after Stanley Cup: report

Forward AJ Greer started a “##### the Oilers” chant while his team was out celebrating. There were also several players on the roster who helped organize a “##### McDavid” chant while out at a club with fans.
Sassy!
