Season Two of The Bear is highly enjoyable but major parts of it come across as someone trying desperately to write like Aaron Sorkin. The first season had some of it, but way too much snappy impressive dialogue. Cameos by great actors are fine but damn that was over the top, and when Richie goes off to another restaurant it felt like a fever dream.

I don't like to challenge people's reviews or opinions, but I have to on this one. I don't think that show could have felt less like Aaron Sorkin's writing if you tried. Not sure where you got that impression.

it felt like someone doing a poor Sorkin impression.

Since the show began, the characters have taken their jobs a little too seriously, as if running a beef house was akin to running the White House. Their exchanges, punctuated by “Chef,” are at times tinged with an Aaron Sorkin-esque sense of high drama and self-importance.

Ah, so it wasn't your poorly formed opinion, it was the poorly formed opinion of another hack critic. Got it.

Couple episodes into season 2 before we dropped it.
Keep thinking should pick it up there and try again, but can't bring myself to do it. If it's any consolation, my attitude toward it reminds me of watching the wire. Everyone says it great but am just completely not interested in sltrying to make it through even one more episode. Your mileage may vary. Good luck

The whole show is pretty outstanding. Especially the first few seasons.

It’s really hard to get past the horrible acting in Cobra Kai. It’s Breaker High level bad.

Cobra Kai lost me after....I think Season 3?

The bad acting I can tolerate. Because the show itself just oozed pure cheese-factor and that was fine. Its a show that told you what it was going to be and then delivered that, cant complain really.

What irritated me after a while was the circular pattern of poor decisions by the characters. At one point Daniel's wife was striking me as essentially the only sane human being in whatever craphole California Valley this was taking place in, but then she started doing stupid crap and acting like an idiot and it all become too overwhelming.

So for the first few seasons it delivered on it's promise and I really like it, but it lost me at some point and I cant quite figure out where it jumped the shark for me.

RE: Justified City Primeval

Looks like little air on Disney+ starting August 30th. A bit of a wait but it seems like all eight episodes will be available.

That makes sense, the final episode is on FX on the 29th.

Disney+ has been doing that lately with some FX shows, putting the full season up right after the finale airs on TV.

I enjoyed the first episode. I'm sure most fans are going to be disappointed by the episode themes since they're mostly "current" topics like antivaxers and getting cancelled based on some of the upcoming episode titles.

But I'm on board for more Futurama regardless. It's one of my favourite shows ever.
