It wasn’t disproven. And most people agree actions having consequences isn’t disgraceful. If they didn’t want their careers derailed, they shouldn’t have taken advantage of someone in a way they knew was wrong. Pretty simple.

I think Bettman probably suspends them for a season and hopes no team is stupid enough to sign them afterwards. And if a team is stupid enough to try and then sign them afterwards, the players will be too rusty to make the team.
You know the oilers would sign Dube, Hart and maybe even McLeod. They have low morals, dubious ethics, weak depth and are close to a cup. The risk calculus probably makes sense for them.

Turns out facts > feelings. The guys were cleared, and your moral panic doesn’t rewrite that. If freaky equals guilty in your world, that’s your problem. Pretty simple.

Maybe. But ultimately, the NHL is in the entertainment business, where clients and corporations align with the NHL for marketing purposes. While die hard fans might want to see the best 900 players in the world playing in the league...a lot of people are willing to take 897 out of 900 and exclude the alleged rapists. They want to enjoy the games with their kids, which is harder to do when one of the players is an alleged rapist. They want to take clients to games...same thing. They want to advertise their bank, telephone network, real estate brokerage, condiment, etc...and they really don't want to align themselves with a league that employs people of such weak ethical standards in front office roles (ie the players).
Think about the corporations who own the boxes and club seats. Think about the players doing work with the children's hospital, mental health, refugees, etc. You're an owner and think having Dube and Hart on your team is a good for business, your image, your teams image? Etc.
No thanks.

Being found not guilty doesn’t mean the claims were disproven, and your desperation to celebrate abusers doesn’t change that.
Facts > feelings, as you said.

Claims aren’t truth. He said, she said and the system said not guilty. Facts > feelings, remember? Or does that only count when it backs your narrative?

Just don't waste your time, people like that don't understand anything more than black and white thinking and have zero ability to critically engage or think in nuance. You can't fix stupid. Trust me, I've tried for a long time.

And not guilty =/= a claim being disproven. For a guy who keeps saying facts > feelings, you should probably get your facts straight and curb the whiney emotional responses.

What was your rationale for asking the mods to change your handle?

Reinstate what? Like, say that a team can sign them if they want? You know that means very little, and they likely never play in the league again anyway, right?
Because, that evening happened. The things that were deemed facts, by the defence even, happened. And a lot of teams aren’t going near that.

I think the main reason why they likely wouldn't get signed is just that none of them are good enough to warrant the negative press. Dube, McLeod, and Foote, and Formenton are either all easily replaceable or not even NHL caliber at this point. Hart is the only one with any potential just based on his pedigree, some teams are desperate for a goalie with upside, and goalies often don't come into their own until later. But even he hasn't played in a year and a half.
Make no mistake, if these were star players, teams would turn themselves into pretzels finding a way to justify signing them.

Ya other than Hart are any of them of any value to a NHL team?
Although the Oilers did sign Lazar….

Then every person involved in the NHL that has had group sex of some sort should be banned. That is what is been said here. Players, management, league personnel, the works…. Let’s make it happen. They were found not guilty, her story was full of holes and accusations of lack of consent was shot down. So these guys are on the same playing field as everyone else in that space now.
