I'm not saying he's guaranteed to rebound, but that game isn't a great barometer to base that on.

He didn't give up a few hits in spring training type game against other MLBers and AAA fodder. He got absolutely wrecked by kids lol

Sportsnet really upping their game with on air talent. I really hope that Buck gets his farewell tour this year, as he's the representation of Blue Jays baseball, but he's been through a lot lately and it's starting to show. Caleb Joseph and Madison Shipman are great. Let them handle the studio. Joe Siddall is absolutely fantastic and should be the fulltime colour guy.

I like that they're moving the bullpen game up to tomorrow. Pen is rested thanks to the A's series and the day off, hopefully Gausman can go deep tonight as well. Also means the Kooch gets the Canada Day start!

I think Manoah isn’t done but I think at best he’s a number 3/4 guy unless he does something drastic. There is a reason most analysts picked him to take a downturn before this season because tbh he got lucky last year. His underlying metrics were much worse than his era. Now ofc he’s gone way done from even that but I think he can be a 3.75-4.50 era, 1.5-2 win sort of pitcher. But sorry just don’t see ace much less even a two or reliable 3 in there. He doesn’t have anything elite in his repertoire. He used to hit 98 in college but he’s a soft tosser now by modern day starting pitcher standards. Does he have a plus pitch? Not really. Does he have a big pitch mix where he can survive without a plus pitch? Nope. Control? Nope. So yeah just a big bunch of meh. I think he can back bounce to be a 4 era sort of guy though.

Games like tonight are why I don't like the pitch clock sometimes. I'm on staycation for the rest of the week and want to settle in and drink some beers while watching ball. This game will be over by 7:15 haha.
