Isn't that what you're getting if you trade for him today?

1st 2023 (top5 protected, conditional on Eichel playing and performing in 2022-2023)

That moves out 9 million, idk if you’d have to do more. If you go and move actual top of roster players for Eichel it just hurts you until he’s healthy. Would this have been way easier to do back in June, yes.
How is this a realistic trade at all for Buffalo? Why would they take Lucic and Zadorov, who arguably have negative trade value?

They are the new Stajan and Brouwer that used to go in so many fan trade proposals. Because other teams cover the Flames’ trash

To balance the cap

The assets are the 4 1sts

And Zadorov does not have negative value - take a look at Buffalo's D

Pretty sure Buffalo is not on the list of teams Lucic want to go to anyway

According to Kings reporter John Hoven over a month ago, the Ducks had no interest in including McTavish (along with Zegras and Drysdale)

Will be interesting to see if viewing Eichel’s medical records has changed that tune and the Ducks are willing to include someone like McTavish. If so, would the Flames be willing to offer two of Zary, Pelletier, and Coronato? Would that be enough to outbid the Ducks?

I dont want an Eichel trade to the Flames. So it must be a sign that an Eichel to Calgary trade is gonna happen.

The Sabres could possibly retain on Monahan and flip him to a third team and extract another 1st+ out of a team. Wouldn’t Vegas love Monahan at $3.2M for the next 2 years and pay a 1st++?

Monny needs to prove himself healthy over a period of time before he has much value.

Then, I hope you don’t want the Flames to win the cup.

Yes I think Monahan, with that cap hit, would have a lot of value to a team like Vegas.

For that reason, Buffalo should value him accordingly.

Unless they're too cheap to retain cap that is.

Lol and why is that? Don't like the idea of this franchise getting its first elite 1C since nieuwendyk?

The injury risk isn't worth the investment of a 50m player. That's my opinion is all.

We simply don't know what kind of player will come out of the other end of this surgery.

If the risk wasn't there, he likely wouldn't be available. I'd rather take a 50m risk on elite talent then watch this franchise spend it on middling talent instead, which is pretty much par for the course and hasn't been working, predictably.

Time to put your chips in or fold imo. It's midnight and this team is clearly a pumpkin as is.

It is like over a 95% chance that Eichel is still an elite C after the surgery he wants, you play those odds every time.

You did an assessment on him yourself, did you?

No, I just read what doctors who perform this type of surgery say. I know on CP the speculators have more credibility than experts but the reality is he will almost certainly be just fine.

Yet teams seem to me interested in him without seeing him play.

Eichel has performed well when he has played. Monny was a shell of his former self last year. Teams really don’t know what that are getting with him. Eichel has a specific injury.
